The love that fans have for their idols is just like any romantic relationship. It can be a love that lasts a lifetime without breaking, but it can also be one that only exists for a certain period of time.
There is no obligation for anyone to love someone else forever, and the fact that some fans leave the fandom is soмєтнing that often happens with K-pop groups. Even BTS is no exception! The members themselves also understand this.
However, what is most notable here is that Jimin and Jungkook had surprisingly different reactions when they learned that some fans no longer support the group.
As for Jimin, his reaction was clearly revealed through an episode of the popular YouTube show “Pixid Impostor.” The situation Jimin faced was that he discovered someone who is currently a fan of Stray Kids used to be an ARMY.
Specifically, when meeting Jimin at the end of the show, this STAY was flustered and honestly admitted that she had once been an ARMY in the past, and the very first concert she attended was a BTS concert.
Jimin’s reaction to this revelation was hilarious when he asked the Stray Kids fan where she had gone and what she was doing. He asked again, "Where have you gone now? What are you up to? We have to take her back".
Not only that, Jimin even decided to send an impromptu video message to Stray Kids’ Felix, hoping that he would understand Jimin’s wish to “bring her back” to the fandom. Jimin said: "Yongbok-nim (Felix’s real name)! I’m not taking her from you… She left home so I’m just taking her back for a bit. Please be understanding."
ARMYs seemed to burst into laughter when they saw Jimin’s reaction to a fan leaving the fandom and his attempt to bring her back!
Meanwhile, when faced with a similar situation where some people were no longer members of the ARMY fandom, Jungkook had a calm yet equally sweet reaction.
Jungkook shared that he knows fans coming and going is nothing surprising, and that he has learned to accept such situations. He even bravely bid farewell to those who had left the fandom.
“There are some of you who may have already left. But I still want to thank you all no matter when you used to love us. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing all those moments with us", he said sincerely.
Whether or not they are still fans of the group, he believes that they all shared soмєтнing special and accompanied each other for a period of time. That’s why he cherishes everyone’s feelings. Instead of clinging to or criticizing those who have left the fandom, he respects their decision and values the memories more.
Not only that, Jungkook reminded fans that they can leave anytime they want, but one thing that will never change is that he and BTS will always be there whenever they are needed. Jungkook does not force them to stay but only hopes that ARMYs will be with BTS out of genuine love.
He said: “I’ll always stay here. Whenever ARMY wants to see me, you can come here anytime. Also when you have to leave or when you want to leave, you can leave at any time. whenever you want. But as long as you remember this, I will always stay here”.
Although each of them had different reactions, both Jungkook and Jimin showed their thoughtfulness toward former fans. Every gesture of theirs carried the same message that they respect any fan, whether they still love or once loved BTS.
