BTS is widely regarded as one of the artists who have most effectively leveraged social media to achieve global fame. From 2017 to 2021, the group even won the Billboard Music Award for Top Social Artist consecutively at the Billboard Music Awards. What makes this even more remarkable is that from their debut days until 2021, BTS almost exclusively used a single shared social media account on X to communicate with fans (not counting their fancafe or V Live).

After nearly eight years of using a shared social media account, the BTS members finally began opening personal accounts on Instagram in 2021 as part of a plan to expand their individual activities. Through these accounts, they started sharing updates about their personal projects, interests, and everyday moments with fans. Since then, Instagram and Weverse have become the primary platforms where the members remain active online.

In the past few years, some members have also begun experimenting with other platforms. j-hope was among the first to create a personal account on TikTok while promoting his solo projects, often posting dance videos or behind-the-scenes content for fans. Later, Jungkook also joined the platform, occasionally appearing in dance challenges to support other artists. He has also opened accounts on YouTube and Threads, though he has not actively interacted with fans there.

Surprisingly, V now appears to be expanding his own social media presence as well, recently “opening the door” on TikTok. On the afternoon of March 13, many ARMY discovered a newly created TikTok account with the ID @tete_kimv and the display name Kimtaehyung. Although fans initially questioned the authenticity of the account, their confidence grew when they noticed that it was being followed by two official TikTok accounts belonging to BTS members j-hope and Jungkook.

Another detail made the speculation even more convincing. Earlier that same morning, Jungkook had been noticed “cleaning up” his TikTok following list. He unfollowed more than 200 accounts belonging to dancers, TikTok creators, and other artists, reducing his following list from around 255 accounts to only two official ones: BTS and j-hope. Therefore, if @tete_kimv were not V’s account, there would be no reasonable explanation for why it appears on Jungkook’s following list afterward.

Meanwhile, the account believed to belong to V is currently following three accounts: the official BTS account and the two members j-hope and Jungkook.

As soon as the discovery began spreading online, the ARMY community quickly flocked to the page. Although the account has not posted any content yet, it has already surpαѕѕed 20,000 followers in a short period of time.

This new move from V has also sparked many interesting speculations among fans. Some believe that V’s presence on TikTok could be part of the promotional strategy for BTS’s upcoming album. Many ARMY are hoping that he will take part in dance challenges with other BTS members or collaborate with other idols on the platform.

At the same time, some fans think that creating a TikTok account may simply stem from V’s curiosity and interest in the extremely popular platform. The singer has long been known for enjoying new ways of communicating with fans. It could also become a space for him to interact with artists, dancers, or TikTok creators who catch his attention.

Whatever the real reason may be, the sudden appearance of a TikTok account under the name Kim Taehyung has been enough to excite the ARMY community. While waiting for the first videos to be posted, many fans are already buzzing with discussion about the discovery:
