The Pixel Project’s Confusing Action After Removing RM From Their List Sparks Outrage Among Fans

The Pixel Project recently made a notable decision by announcing that RM would be indefinitely suspended from its list of “16 Male Role Models Helping to Stop Vi0lence Against Women”. The move came after the BTS leader and j-hope attended a concert featuring Chris Brown in Toronto on August 12, sparking heated debate as Brown has long faced numerous allegations and controversies involving νισℓєи¢є and ѕєχual harαѕѕment against women.

According to The Pixel Project, even if RM and j-hope did not intend to turn that moment into a public endorsement of Brown or νισℓєи¢є against women, their level of fame had inadvertently “promoted” an abuser and downplayed the seriousness of gender-based νισℓєи¢є in front of a fanbase that is more than 90% women. Pixel also argued that this public αѕѕociation had caused emotional and psychological harm to many ARMYs, including those who are survivors of domestic νισℓєи¢є or ѕєχual νισℓєи¢є.

The organization also emphasized that it had been waiting for RM to issue a public statement or acknowledgment regarding the incident, but after a week of silence, it decided to take action. They added: “We have never expected any male role model (including RM) to be perfect. Everyone is human after all. But being a decent human being also means being accountable when your choices hurt other people.”

Pixel’s decision would be widely respected if it were truly fair and consistent. However, shortly after the statement, some ARMYs spotted a “major loophole.” The name being brought up the most at this point is Bad Bunny — who is listed second alongside RM on Pixel’s list of male role models.

According to fans, Bad Bunny has appeared on stage with or posed for photos with Chris Brown multiple times, with some of these αѕѕociations taking place even before the incident involving RM and j-hope. Yet while RM was indefinitely suspended from the list, Bad Bunny was not removed.

Some ARMYs have questioned whether The Pixel Project is applying different standards to different artists. If a photo or appearance with Chris Brown is considered serious enough to cost RM his place on the list, then why are other artists who have had similar interactions not facing the same consequences?

Even more notably, Pixel’s subsequent suspicious actions have only made fans angrier and pushed their suspicions to a boiling point. When many fans flooded The Pixel Project’s Instagram comments to ask the organization for an explanation or express their disagreement with the decision, those comments were quickly deleted, while accounts that repeatedly left comments were reportedly blocked.

At this point, some fans have even accused Pixel of “clout chasing” — taking advantage of the attention surrounding the controversy involving RM and j-hope to attract publicity. BTS is one of the most influential groups in the world, so any move involving its members can generate mαѕѕive engagement, and the Chris Brown controversy is a prime example. Meanwhile, Bad Bunny is still working with Brown on music projects, yet hardly anyone seems to be calling out their collaborations, nor does Pixel appear concerned about suspending him from the list they describe as a collection of exemplary role models.

One fan wrote: "Just tried writing a comment on pixelproject Instagram, but they closed the comment section. They also deleted one of my friend's comments where they pointed out that there are other people in their listing who also supported or had pictures with CB. "We hear some of the woman not everyone". Shame on you!@PixelProject. If they are so concerned and care about woman so much, removing everyone who's had connection with cb should be very easy".

Other fans followed suit, openly sharing their opinions on X and tagging Pixel’s official account:

- Like clockwork, they closed the comments calling out their hypocrisy. Wнιтe women really only like to be loud without pushback of their own hypocrisy. And now I got blocked, for informing them about bad bunny. It was never about accountability

- Shame on that joke of an organisation for silencing women and deleting comments pointing out another of their "role models" even went on stage with cb. apparently not all women should be heard!

- Wanna act bold online but deactivated as soon as we wanna inform them about their inconsistent list? Blocking and deleting comments and now deactivating? What a joke you are @PixelProject

- The time you start pointing out their hypocrisy and they start deleting sht you know its just targeted ŕäċïṩṃ, performativism and just pure gimmicks

- All of this is starting to feel increasingly discriminatory and frankly deeply racialized when it comes to the way namjoon is being treated. People are clearly using this whole discourse as an excuse to project the prejudice and resentment they already hold toward Asian men.

- You can't convince me they are not treating him different because he's Asian. Like, an Asian artist needs to be aware of every problematic western celebrity or he will be crucified for attending a concert as an au∂ιєnce member, but other artists can be friends and have collabs with problematic people and abusers from THEIR OWN COUNTRY without anyone making any comment about it.

- I keep saying these fckers are performative, bias and hypocrites!!!!... How come they want to hold BTS responsible for said actions others did, yet they still hold those artist in high regards??..lol
