RM and SUGA were among the very first trainees to join the BTS project—a project that initially included many trainees before BigHit Music selected the final seven members to debut. The two rappers were also the first to move into the company’s dorm, spending more time living and training together than the others. Their decade-long friendship has become soмєтнing many admire.
On the other hand, RM is known for his composure and strong leadership, and SUGA has a similarly calm personality, making the idea of a “fιgнт” between them seem almost unimaginable. However, things weren’t always smooth—especially when they were both in their early twenties, young men with strong egos.
A former BigHit trainee later shared a story about the only time RM and SUGA argued during their trainee days, offering fans a rare glimpse into the foundation of their relationship.
According to this trainee, the entire incident began with RM’s clumsiness. While many see RM as a perfect leader, he has flaws like anyone else—one of them being his “talent” for breaking things in the dorm. Meanwhile, the one who would clean up and fix everything was SUGA, who was particularly sкιℓℓed at those tasks. After repeated incidents, SUGA eventually voiced his frustration directly to his younger teammate, which led to a major argument over how to deal with the mess in the dorm.

The argument grew heated, words became harsh, and they even started throwing clothes at each other. It didn’t stop there — SUGA and RM also threw pillows at each other like kids. It was only when j-hope, Jimin, and Jungkook rushed into the room that they finally stopped. The funniest part was that after seeing j-hope’s extremely angry face, both SUGA and RM had to “call a truce” and apologize to him because they had messed up the neatly folded laundry that he and Jimin had spent hours ironing and folding. Afterwards, the two had to re-fold all the clothes together — and in doing so, made up with each other.
That argument undoubtedly taught both of them a lot, and their relationship improved significantly afterward. Today, whenever they speak about each other, it is filled with appreciation. RM once said about SUGA: "When I think of him, I feel like my old homie in my hometown. He gives me comfort as an old friend, old housemate.” Likewise, SUGA expressed: “He's one of my favourite people out of everyone I've met in my life, as well as our reliable leader.”
The clash between RM’s clumsy, artistic nature and SUGA’s meticulous, capable personality was ultimately a process of refining two strong egos learning how to coexist!

This story of RM and SUGA’s fιgнт—while j-hope, Jimin, and Jungkook got dragged into it—also reminds fans of another recent “three-hour argument in Los Angeles” involving RM, Jimin, and V, with SUGA as a witness. RM recalled: “It was late at night, we were drinking, and things got melancholy. Since we had to work the next day and Song Camp was an every-day thing, I suggested, 'Let’s wrap this up and tidy the place.' But then Jimin said, 'Hyung, you shouldn't talk to Taehyung like that, should you?' and it escalated from there".
The leader added, unsure whether to laugh or cry: "I just suggested we wrap things up, but I ended up becoming the world’s biggest villain. I was less drunk than the two of them, but they followed me all the way to my room and spent three hours telling me how upset they were. I still can't forget it." SUGA added, "I just kept watching and thinking, 'Why?' It didn't seem like the time or place to fιgнт. j-hope just went inside early and slept through it."

ARMYs have noticed a common thread in these arguments: they were never meant to hurt each other. Even when things became intense and chaotic, the members knew how to express their emotions without resorting to νισℓєи¢є or causing real harm. It often felt more like childish sulking—soмєтнing that only further proves they are more like brothers than just friends.
After all, even in a family, conflicts are inevitable—but those very arguments often become the catalyst that strengthens the bond between loved ones!
