Before CORTIS debuted in 2025, TXT had been the only junior group of BTS under BigHit Music for six years. Because of that, there has never been much doubt about the close connection between the only two groups in the same label. On the other hand, BTS have also been one of the biggest K-pop superstars over the past several years, so TXT naturally developed a great deal of admiration and respect for the group from the moment they debuted.
In an interview during their rookie days, Choi Beomgyu did not hesitate to confirm this, saying, “I’m a huge fan of BTS. Whenever I run into them at the agency, my heart trembles and I become nervous.” Meanwhile, leader Choi Soobin shared that he had learned many valuable experiences from BTS, especially from RM since they are both leaders. He said, “When I’m talking to Namjoon (RM) from BTS I feel that way… I want to be someone like him as I grow up.”
While Soobin shows great respect for RM as a leader, he has a special fondness for another BTS member as a true fanboy. Specifically, he once confirmed in a media interview, “Ever since we first debuted, when I get asked who my bias is of the BTS sunbaenims, I’ve always answered that it’s Jin sunbaenim, right?”
He has also shown his ultimate fanboy energy toward Jin whenever he talks about him, often following it with a long list of compliments about Jin’s appearance, personality, and music. In several past broadcasts, Soobin frequently played Jin’s solo songs such as Awake and Epiphany while showering his idol with praise.
According to Soobin, Jin’s kindness toward TXT is what truly turned him into a huge fan of both Jin and BTS. His admiration did not come only from observing Jin from afar, but also from his own personal experiences interacting with the “Worldwide Handsome,” even before TXT debuted.
At that time, when the company headquarters was still small and TXT were trainees, they had to give up the practice rooms whenever BTS came in to use them. In situations like that, Jin would always feel apologetic for taking over their space, even though he had every right to use it.
"After pαѕѕing my audition and joining the company—back then, you know the practice rooms were in the basement, right? When we were practicing there, if the seniors came, we had to give up the vocal rooms and training space to them. And every time Jin sunbaenim came, he was so kind. He would greet us with a cheerful ‘Hello, everyone!’ and he felt sorry that we had to give up our practice space for them,” Soobin recalled.
Even after TXT had debuted, Jin continued to show care for his juniors despite his own busy schedule, which moved Soobin even more.
Soobin shared, “When the debut lineup got fixed, he asked when we had time and said that he wanted to eat with us someday. But we all got busy, but he got us pizza and said, ‘I really wanted to eat and talk to you guys, but it’s a shame that we can’t, so at least eat this amongst yourselves.’ He had the pizza delivered to us and left".
He also emphasized once again how much Jin’s kindness meant to him since his trainee days: "Back then, I was still just a trainee, but he gave me so many touching words and actions. He became a senior I am extremely grateful to, respect deeply, and truly adore.”
At this point, fans can easily understand why every time Soobin mentions Jin, he bursts with the admiration and excitement of a true fanboy. Without any grand gestures, those sincere and simple acts of kindness broke down the barrier between junior and senior, making TXT feel appreciated and encouraged. With someone as warm and considerate as Jin, how could anyone not love him?
On the other hand, Soobin is arguably living the “dream life” of many fans. Not only did he debut under the same company as his idol, but he also gained the greatest privilege of all—becoming Jin’s beloved junior. After hearing Soobin share this story, fans could not help but praise Jin and express admiration for the heartwarming bond between the two, saying:
