After performing as the headliner at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Festival on the 19th (KST), the BTS members quickly headed back to South кσяєα overnight. Six members — RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, and V — arrived at Incheon International Airport on the afternoon of the 20th, while Jungkook was reportedly staying in the U.S. for an individual schedule.
Appearing at the airport with the other members that day, RM opted for a fairly simple, rugged look. The idol wore a backwards baseball cap, a face mask, a gray zip-up windbreaker, and jeans. Although he could not completely hide his tiredness after the long flight, RM continued to smile and maintained positive energy as he made his way through the crowds of reporters and fans waiting for them.
Notably, RM also had a very interesting conversation with Dispatch reporters as he walked toward the car to head home. The short but humorous exchange quickly caught attention, especially when the BTS leader υиєχρє¢тє∂ly compared the reporters to “family members” whom he sees quite often.
When one reporter enthusiastically greeted him by saying, “You guys must be tired. Great work,” RM immediately responded cheerfully, “Hello, it feels like we are family members who only meet during holidays?” The remark made both RM and the reporters burst out laughing. One reporter then joined in: “We’re family.”
RM continued to make everyone laugh when he explained, “We saw each other about a week ago, so it feels like you come around more often than my mother does.” And, in a way, that is actually true!
The busy life of an idol often means that he cannot spend much time at home. Just recently, RM returned to South кσяєα on the 7th after spending two months on tour, only to head back to the U.S. for iHeartRadio on the 17th. Whenever he travels and returns with the BTS members, some of the very first people he sees are actually the crowds of fans and reporters already waiting for them at the airport.
The friendly conversation continued as RM and the reporters exchanged Chuseok greetings. After being told, “Have a happy Chuseok” and “Have a wonderful Chuseok holiday,” RM returned the wishes and also shared that he should probably visit his grandmother soon to eat some songpyeon.
Before getting into the car, RM also mentioned soмєтнing rather υиєχρє¢тє∂ about this trip. He said that he was the only one who had to declare his items at customs before coming out, which made him feel “incredibly awkward.” RM’s relaxed way of sharing such everyday stories with the reporters made the airport moment even more endearing.
