BTS returned to the stadium that hosted the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ Final just two weeks ago. Over the course of two concerts, the group performed their biggest нιтs alongside approximately 157,000 fans, who pαѕѕionately sang along and once again demonstrated their unwavering loyalty to the global superstars after seven years away from the venue. The concerts also marked the first stop of BTS's North αмєяι¢αn tour, which will continue until early next month.
Overwhelmed by the fans' incredible support, the members couldn't stop expressing their gratitude. V shared, "We made some truly unforgettable memories," before joking, "Our next city is Boston, so the ARMY in Boston should be a bit nervous, because New York tore it up so hard…" Meanwhile, SUGA warmly said, "I really enjoyed today—I'm so grateful and moved. During his closing ment, RM first mentioned the rare rain that appeared for the first time since the opening concert in Seoul, saying it made the night feel even more special. He then υиєχρє¢тє∂ly said, "shout out to Pikachu and Pokémon happy 30th birthday," before revealing that he had been playing Pokémon GO at MetLife and had even battled with fans inside the stadium.
The rapper joked, "And... you know I also played Pokémon GO, and I had some battles with you know in this stadium, maybe with some ARMYs... you guys were... your levels were way too high, so I gotta practice." His confession immediately sent tens of thousands of fans into laughter and loud cheers. He then wrapped up his speech with, "Alright, I hope you had a good time, and i wanna come back like really soon. I AM GONNA MISS YOU! Peace!"
No one expected RM to be spending his free time playing Pokémon GO while preparing for the concert, let alone secretly battling his own fans inside the stadium. What made the story even funnier was the way he admitted that ARMYs were simply too good, to the point where he confessed that he "gotta practice." Even RM himself probably didn't expect the outcome to be so surprising. It was an υиєχρє¢тє∂ly hilarious moment, and fans only found his adorably clumsy side even more lovable.
Coincidentally, BTS's MetLife concerts took place during Pokémon's global "Pokémon Day Out" celebrations for the franchise's 30th anniversary. Just about a week earlier, Pokémon Day Out had been held in New York City, leading many fans to believe this was also why RM appeared as "Pikachu boy" during the MetLife concert, adding another fun surprise for the au∂ιєnce.
For ARMYs, however, RM's love for Pokémon is nothing new. Last year, he received a cornered Pokémon card from a fan after the two happened to run into each other while he was on his way to the Van Gogh Museum with a close friend. RM has also shared that even though he is now 30 years old, his father still visited around ten different stores to help him complete a Pokémon bread sticker collection when the trend swept across South кσяєα. The rapper also made fans laugh after posting on Instagram simply to celebrate pulling a new Pikachu card in a Pokémon game he was playing.
RM's "confession" about secretly playing Pokémon GO with ARMYs at MetLife once again highlighted just how much he loves the iconic franchise. Many fans even joked that instead of preparing for the next stop of the tour, RM might need to spend a little more time leveling up in Pokémon GO before facing ARMYs again at the upcoming venues:
