Restaurant Co-Owned by Jin and His Brother Reveals Massive Revenue, Yet Was Forced to Close

On the 16th, Kim Seok-jung, the older brother of BTS member Jin, appeared as a close acquaintance on comedian Jung Jun-ha’s YouTube channel, "Jung Jun-ha-ha-ha." In the video, Jung Jun-ha introduced him by saying, “His younger brother is Jin from BTS. Today, he’ll be in charge of grilling the meat.”

Kim Seok-jung smiled shyly as he was introduced. Many viewers noted that his facial features and reserved smile bear a striking resemblance to his famous younger brother. Throughout the filming, he enthusiastically took part in the traditional makgeolli-making experience and also showed a down-to-earth side by personally grilling meat for the other guests.

In fact, Kim Seok-jung has long been a familiar figure within the BTS fandom. Back in 2020, Jin personally attended his brother’s wedding and even served as the MC, demonstrating the close bond between the siblings. Born in 1990, Kim Seok-jung is two years older than Jin. He is now a father of two and is actively involved in business.

What is particularly noteworthy is that Jin once ventured into business with his brother when they opened the נαραиese restaurant Ossu Seiromushi in 2018. According to official records, Jin served as a director, while his brother held the position of CEO. The restaurant was originally located in Seoul’s Songpa District, but by 2025, it had relocated to the basement level (B1) of the Yuhwa Securities Building at 36 Gukjegeumyung-ro 2-gil in Yeongdeungpo District.

Last year, Kim Seok-jung attracted considerable attention when he revealed on KBS2’s reality show "Boss in the Mirror" that the restaurant he operated generated approximately 300 million won (~$198.000 USD) in monthly revenue. The restaurant specialized in seiro-mushi, a נαραиese-style steaming cuisine that combines thinly sliced beef and pork with vegetables, mushrooms, and eggs, all delicately flavored with soy sauce, sake, and mirin. Over the years, numerous celebrities as well as ARMYs visited the restaurant and praised its menu.

Unfortunately, despite its popularity, the restaurant announced its closure at the end of March this year. A statement posted on the restaurant’s official account read: "To all the customers who visited our store, remembered us, and supported us, we sincerely express our gratitude. It was not an easy decision, but we will remember for a long time the interest and love you have shown us.”

The announcement left many fans saddened, as the restaurant had become a must-visit destination for numerous ARMYs. Fans were also disappointed because it was one of the pαѕѕion projects that Jin and his brother had worked hard to build together. At the same time, many expressed understanding of the challenges the business faced, given the rising costs of rent and ingre∂ιєnts in recent years, particularly in Seoul’s bustling commercial districts.

In addition to the restaurant business, Kim Seok-jung is known to run a beauty and hair salon with his wife. Their father is also reportedly a businessman involved in the electronic components supply industry. It is clear that entrepreneurship runs in the family, which may help explain why Jin has also demonstrated a strong business acumen alongside his successful career as an idol.

Rare appearances by the families of K-pop stars on television always attract significant attention, delighting fans while often revealing surprising new details. Many fans couldn’t help but remark: "300 million won a month and still had to close? The business now is really harsh", "I'm going to miss Ossu Seiromushi", "Jin's brother seems so humble and kind", "Such a hardworking family", "It's sad to see their pαѕѕion business end", "ARMYs really ℓσѕт a must-visit spot in Seoul", "The family resemblance is unreal!",...
