Jungkook Recommend His Favorite Netflix Series And Films For ARMYs

In the eyes of many people, BTS in general and Jungkook in particular are among the biggest K-pop superstars in the world, with schedules that seem busier and more packed than anyone else’s. There are times when, looking at BTS’s timetable, it almost feels like they don’t even have a single day to rest. In general, idols’ time is incredibly valuable, which makes fans curious about how they spend those rare moments of downtime.

Jungkook’s answer, however, is much simpler than many people might imagine: watching movies or shows on Netflix. As a true Gen Z, it turns out that even a global superstar like Jungkook enjoys spending his free time just like many young people—binge-watching content on one of the most famous and widely used streaming platforms in the world. He even designed a dedicated entertainment room in his multi-million-dollar mansion specifically for watching movies and singing karaoke.

On the other hand, the idol is also quite generous when it comes to recommending series or films he enjoys on Netflix so that fans can check them out for their own entertainment. Below is a list of 12 films and series that he has mentioned watching.

1. Our Beloved Summer

Interestingly, Jungkook once held a Q&A session on Instagram where he asked ARMY for Netflix recommendations. When a fan suggested Our Beloved Summer, Jungkook immediately replied with “#ReadyReadyAlreadyWatched.”

Our Beloved Summer tells the story of a couple who broke up but are forced to reunite after the documentary they filmed together in high school suddenly goes viral online. One of the lead actors is Choi Wooshik, who is close friends with V and BTS, while V also sang “Christmas Tree,” one of the drama’s OSTs.

2. Bridgerton

During the same Q&A session, ARMYs also suggested Bridgerton, which coincidentally happened not long after the show’s second season had been released. Jungkook once again confirmed that he had already watched it.

Bridgerton is a historical romance drama based on a series of novels and set during єиgℓαи∂’s Regency era. Across its seasons, the story follows members of the wealthy Bridgerton family as they navigate love and high-society life.

3. Alice in Borderland

Another recommendation from ARMYs that turned out to be already on Jungkook’s Netflix watchlist was Alice in Borderland. This нιт נαραиese series is a perfect choice for fans of Squid Game and other suspenseful sci-fi thrillers. The 2020 drama follows a group of colorful characters in a deserted Tokyo who must survive a series of dangerous games—while also confronting conflicts among themselves.

4. Twenty Five Twenty One

This time, Jungkook didn’t ask for recommendations. Instead, he personally shared a short video clip of himself watching a scene from the 2022 кσяєαn drama Twenty Five Twenty One.

The series is a heartfelt coming-of-age story about youth, ambition, and the bittersweet feelings of adulthood. Set in 1998, it follows Na Hee-do, who pursues her dream of becoming a fencing athlete, and Baek Yi-jin, who struggles to rebuild his life. Amid the turbulence of the era, the two write a pαѕѕionate chapter of youth together, where love and friendship become their support through difficult times.

5. Paik’s Spirit

During the ¢σνι∂-19 quarantine period, Jungkook once posted an Instagram story with the caption “drinking alone.” The clip he shared came from the Netflix show Paik’s Spirit, a talk show featuring famous guests alongside delicious food and drinks.

Hosted by chef Baek Jong Won, who also appeared on Run BTS!, the show highlights great cuisine and beverages—soмєтнing that naturally appeals to Jungkook, who has often expressed his pαѕѕion for food and cooking.

6. Love and Leashes

Returning to Jungkook’s Netflix watchlist, Love and Leashes is another title he confirmed watching. Notably, the female lead of the film is Seohyun, the youngest member of the legendary girl group Girls’ Generation (SNSD).

Love and Leashes is an unconventional romantic comedy that explores BDSM themes with humor and sensitivity. The story follows a unique “contract relationship” between two office workers after a hidden secret is α¢¢ι∂єитally revealed. Rather than focusing on explicit scenes, the film emphasizes mutual understanding, respect for personal preferences, and the journey toward self-acceptance.

7. K-Pop Demon Hunters

Jungkook also couldn’t escape the hype surrounding one of Netflix’s biggest нιтs of the summer: K-Pop Demon Hunters. During a Weverse livestream in July 2025, Jungkook told fans directly: “I watched K-Pop Demon Hunters, and I cried… I cried at the end.” He was especially emotional during the climax when the character Jinu sacrifices himself to help Rumi fιgнт the enemy.

Not only did Jungkook become a devoted fan of this K-pop-themed animated series, but he also sang parts of the soundtrack such as “Soda Pop” and “Golden.” He paid such close attention to the OST that he even pointed out a small mistake in the lyrics, which surprised Andrew Choi, the singer of “Soda Pop.”

His reaction went so viral that Netflix temporarily changed its social media banner to a photo of Jungkook crying with the caption: “Jungkook watched K-Pop Demon Hunters.”

8. Business Proposal

Jungkook also told fans that he had watched Business Proposal. This revelation surprised many ARMYs and made them realize that Jungkook truly shares the same Gen Z tastes as many viewers, since most of the shows he watches are trending among young au∂ιєnces.

Business Proposal is a wildly popular romantic comedy known for its hilarious “fake identity” storyline involving Shin Ha-ri and the narcissistic CEO Kang Tae-moo.

9. The Uncanny Counter

Moving away from romance dramas, Jungkook also recommended The Uncanny Counter to fans. The series follows a high school student who joins a group called the Counters, whose mission is to hunt down and battle evil spirits that have escaped from the afterlife. Interestingly, Jungkook himself has expressed curiosity about the supernatural world and even once mentioned the idea of going on a “ghost hunt.” Because of this, the show likely satisfies his curiosity and imagination.

10. Money Heist

Money Heist is a Spanish crime drama that was originally planned as a limited series but eventually expanded into multiple seasons. The show follows The Professor and his team as they plan and execute an elaborate heist. Jungkook enjoyed the series so much that even after finishing it once, he said he wanted to watch it again.

11. Don’t Look Up

On Instagram, Jungkook confirmed that he watched the 2021 dark comedy disaster film Don’t Look Up. The movie follows two astronomers who try to warn the world about a comet heading toward Earth that could potentially destroy the planet.

12. Physical: 100

In 2023, Jungkook hosted a Weverse livestream with over 10 million viewers, where he casually ate fried chicken while watching Physical: 100, Netflix’s intense survival-reality competition show. After that livestream, the show’s viewership reportedly skyrocketed, eventually becoming the third most-watched program on Netflix at the time—thanks in part to Jungkook’s broadcast.
