j-hope’s Sister Once Got Bias-wrecked Within BTS And ARMYs Totally Relate

BTS are currently top K-pop superstars, so naturally their family members also attract a great deal of attention and curiosity from the public. However, most of the members’ parents and siblings maintain a high level of privacy since they are not public figures. Among them, only Jung Jiwoo—the older sister of j-hope—is widely known to ARMYs, as she is a major social media influencer.

On the other hand, j-hope’s sister is also considered a big fan of BTS due to her long history of supporting the group. Jiwoo is often seen attending BTS concerts or her brother’s solo world tour, as well as using BTS merchs or items endorsed by the group to show her support.

Although her love for all the members seems equal, fans believe that, as j-hope’s sister, she would naturally favor her younger brother a little more. However, this αѕѕumption was proven wrong when j-hope revealed that the member Jiwoo likes the most in BTS “has never been him.” In the same interview, j-hope also mentioned that Jiwoo has experienced “bias-wrecking” just like any other fan.

Specifically, in an interview from some time ago, members who have sisters—such as RM, j-hope, and V—were asked which member they would introduce to their sisters. In this situation, j-hope pointed out that Jiwoo used to like Jungkook. This mention prompted the youngest member to ask, "Previously?” j-hope then quickly clarified that her preference had changed recently, revealing that her current favorite member is Jimin.

j-hope’s revelation led Jungkook to react with playful disappointment, complaining, “Noona, are you going to be like this?” Meanwhile, Jimin responded with excitement, smiling brightly and saying toward the camera, “Noona, I love you.”

Building on Jiwoo’s fondness for Jimin, j-hope added more reasons why he would choose Jimin to introduce to his sister. He further explained his reasons for choosing Jimin, describing him as “charming,” “kind,” and especially sкιℓℓed at aegyo (cute gestures), which always makes his sister happy. But it's purely hypothetical, as in reality there has never been such a chance since she is already married.

Meanwhile, although j-hope may not be Jiwoo’s ultimate bias, he still has an extremely devoted fan within the Jung family—his father. This was revealed by Jiwoo in a vlog documenting her short visit home in Gwangju. While driving her home, her father played j-hope’s newly released song Killin’ It Girl in the car. Jiwoo exclaimed, "When I come down and ride in Dad's car, he only listens to his son's song. Dad, you're listening to new songs, though...You're this close to memorizing the lyrics".

This moment showed that not only Killin’ It Girl, but most of j-hope’s songs are played repeatedly by his father until he knows them by heart—clearly making him one of j-hope’s most dedicated fans and a true ARMY. But that’s not all. In a family documentary j-hope once made, his father even had the words “The World of HOPE” engraved on a stone in their family garden to commemorate his son’s success.

What makes this story even more touching is the change in j-hope’s father—from someone who once opposed his son pursuing an artistic career to becoming one of his biggest supporters and proudest fans. Longtime BTS fans may recall the story of how his father once caught him pretending to study while secretly watching dance videos, sighed softly, and walked out of the room.

Comparing his father’s reaction from 15 years ago to the present highlights j-hope’s relentless efforts to prove himself and pursue his dreams. At the same time, it underscores a timeless truth about parental love for their children.

In the end, family remains the strongest source of emotional support and encouragement for any idol. And BTS are truly fortunate to have not just one, but seven loving families who support and stand by them every step of the way!
