In a poll conducted by Idol Chart toward the end of last year under the theme “Stars You Want to Date with on Valentine’s Day,” Jin outpolled hundreds of idols by a wide margin to claim the No.1 spot. As of 2026, Jin has also maintained the top position for 34 consecutive weeks in the category of Most Loved Male Idol on the Idol Pick app. The Best Poll once ranked Jin No.1 as the ideal man / ideal boyfriend type, while кσяєαboo selected him as one of six male idols who give off “college boyfriend material” energy.

On social media, countless posts appear every day gushing over how captivating Jin’s boyfriend material aura is—expressing wishes to find a boyfriend like him or imagining what it would be like to date Jin. At one point, the trend “Jin, marry me” even went viral on Twitter. And chances are, you’ve seen comments or banners like “Please date me” or “Please marry me” during his livestreams or solo concerts at least once.

In other words, Jin is undeniably loved on a global scale and is the dream man of millions of women worldwide. Everyone—quite literally—would want to date him, from ordinary people to female celebrities alike. That is why the statement that “Jin has never received a dating confession” sounds highly questionable and seems to suggest that there may be some kind of misunderstanding.

However, this is soмєтнing Jin himself actually shared in an episode of Run BTS, in which he took part in a “waterfalls” challenge alongside three other stars: Yeonjun (TXT), YouTuber Kwak Joon-bin (KwakTube), and MMA fιgнтer Kim Dong-hyun. The episode featured a “Would you rather…?” style Q&A game, and one of the liveliest discussion topics was choosing “be asked out in a work group chat or have someone perform a traditional mask dance while asking you out in the middle of the street in Hongdae?”

Fighter Kim Dong-hyun candidly shared that he preferred being confessed to directly, saying, “Isn’t it nice to be asked out?” Meanwhile, Jin revealed his more introverted side, showing discomfort with overly public displays. He commented, “If someone asks you out in a group chat, you can just decline”. He continued, “Would someone really do a mask dance while asking me out? That would be so embarrαѕѕing in front of a crowd”.

The conversation reached its peak when KwakTube jokingly made fun of himself, saying, “I’d prefer the group chat, but I’ve never been asked out before”. Immediately after, Jin dropped a confession that ѕнσ¢кed everyone: “I’ve never been asked out either”.

Jin’s remark sent all the guests into an uproar, as they could hardly believe what they were hearing. Yeonjun (TXT) instantly pushed back, saying, “Stop lying!” while Kim Dong-hyun openly expressed his disbelief: “That’s surprising”. Despite the intense skepticism from his peers, Jin calmly reiterated once more, “I don’t know anyone, so I’ve never been asked out.”

Kwak Joon-bin then followed up by suggesting that Jin may not have received any dating confessions because “maybe they’re too intimidated", a reasoning that fans overwhelmingly found convincing.

Does anyone even feel worthy of asking ‘Worldwide Handsome’ out? Forget a date—most people wouldn't even have the courage to strike up a conversation in the first place. It’s safe to bet that nine out of ten people feel exactly that same sense of intimidation.

On the other hand, ARMYs also pointed out that while Jin says no one has ever asked him out, the reality is that he has never really given anyone the chance.
