Famous Media Figure Boasts of Being Photographed by BTS Member at World Cup, but the Truth Is Quickly Exposed

Before getting into the topic currently causing a stir on social media, fans should first know a little about the central figure in this BTS-related discussion. Mohamed Esha, better known as Esha El-shawali, is a well-known digital content creator, sports commentator, and influencer in Egypt and across the Arab world. With more than one million Instagram followers, he has a considerable social media presence and frequently appears on entertainment and sports programs.

Mohamed Esha has recently attracted even more attention after appearing on the popular podcast Ma3 Kamel E7tiaty. During the show, he shared a story about how he managed to get into the 2026 FIFA World Cup final without a ticket, made his way into the VIP area, and met internationally famous figures such as Mike Tyson, MrBeast, and IShowSpeed. His story left many people impressed and even envious.

Notably, Esha also brought up a BTS member — group leader RM — as part of this story.

Specifically, Esha claimed that at the World Cup final, he once asked a man to take pictures of him without realizing that the person was Namjoon. According to his account, he noticed a waiter bringing the man a drink with a trembling hand, which led him to αѕѕume that the person must be someone famous.

“I didn’t know him personally, but I understood from the situation that he was someone well-known. He was a man with narrow eyes, so I handed him my phone and let him take my pictures,” he recalled. He went on to say that while he was posing, he noticed the people standing behind the man laughing, presumably because they realized Esha had absolutely no idea who was taking his pictures.

He concluded his story by saying: “Then I found out that this man was their group leader, and he was the one personally taking my pictures! It was obvious from my eyes that I really didn’t know who he was. He even asked me, ‘Did you like the picture or not?’ and I replied, ‘Yes, thank you.’ I only discovered the truth later, after I had posted the pictures, when I found out that the person was none other than the leader of BTS!”

Mohamed Esha described the setting and events in considerable detail, making his story sound quite convincing. Even his fellow podcast hosts and some netizens appeared to believe him and were taken by surprise. However, ARMY were not so easily fooled.

As soon as the story was shared, fans quickly began questioning its authenticity. Some even managed to find what they considered evidence that Mohamed Esha had fabricated his claim about RM taking his pictures. The evidence was an image captured from a video posted by @sarae6p, someone who was actually present in the stands at MetLife Stadium during the World Cup final between ѕραιи and Argentina.

The image showed that Esha had indeed asked another spectator to take his pictures, but the man was clearly not RM, contrary to what he had claimed on the podcast. Additionally, another photo was brought forward, showing that he and the BTS members were not seated in the same section of the stands.

Following this discovery, many ARMY accused the media personality of making up the story to attract attention and capitalize on BTS' influence to boost his own profile.

Fans were understandably frustrated by what they saw as Mohamed Esha's fabricated story, reacting with comments such as: "So he's яα¢ιѕт and a liar
Can we stop hyping him?", "He was also apparently lying", "Dude is a lying liar who lies", "Bro, its яα¢ιѕт as h3ll. Not funny. I hope ARMY stop laugh", "This is not cute at all. It’s fcking яα¢ιѕт", "I see nothing cool about this interaction at all. If that really was Namjoon, then he was far too kind to that guy, who is nothing but an anti-Asian яα¢ιѕт", "Using BTS for clout is embarrαѕѕing. Stop dragging Namjoon into your lies", "Imagine making up a story involving someone else's kindness just to get attention. Disgusting",...
