On March 25 (U.S. time), BTS appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC to promote their fifth studio album ARIRANG, which was released just last week. This marked the first time BTS appeared as a full group in five years since their last appearance on the show in July 2021, when they performed “Permission to Dance.”
As familiar guests of the program, all seven members appeared very comfortable, chatting with Jimmy Fallon in an easy and warm manner. Recalling their recent performance at the historic Gwanghwamun Square, which was broadcast globally on Netflix, j-hope said, “We did everything we could to prepare and show it to you. We have even more to show you going forward.”

The group then performed “Swim,” the title track of their new album, at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Speaking about the fifth studio album Arirang, RM expressed, “We hope that our new songs can carry that same universal appeal (to global fans).” Meanwhile, Jin spoke about the joy of being back together as a team, saying, “With the members back by my side, even the same moves felt more powerful and confident. I realized how much they mean to me.”
Notably, this theme also became one of the most talked-about segments of the show. Jimmy asked all seven members what they missed most about each other during the time they were apart due to military service. Each member’s answer made fans laugh while also touching them with the evident bond between the group.
Starting with Jimin, he took quite some time to choose what he missed most about Suga, while SUGA sat beside him smiling and waiting. After thinking for a while, Jimin said “one percent battery life,” and SUGA immediately understood that he was referring to his “no energy” state. V also helped clarify this by repeating, “No energy.”

Next, SUGA was asked about j-hope and showed off his clever wordplay: “Hundred percent battery life,” referring to j-hope’s abundant energy and enthusiasm. Living up to his title as the “hope” of BTS and ARMY, j-hope immediately stood up and danced to demonstrate his high energy.
When it was j-hope’s turn, he was asked what he missed most about Jin. Not disappointing fans, j-hope shouted out, “Jin’s Worldwide Handsome,” prompting cheers from the au∂ιєnce. Jin instantly responded with his signature gesture—blowing a kiss to the entire studio.

Jin then quickly pointed out that what he missed most about RM was his intelligence, adding, “His brain is perfect.” The members have often expressed admiration for their leader’s IQ of 148. Meanwhile, RM shared that he missed when Taehyung was smaller and skinny. He said, “I mean, he became like 86kg in the military… And now he’s got… He’s got skinny again, so…” and even shook hands with V to show his appreciation for his current physique.

Next, V talked about Jungkook, saying, “I missed Jungkook teasing me.” However, some fans—and even Jimmy Fallon—misunderstood this. The au∂ιєnce screamed loudly, and Jimmy looked slightly confused, unsure whether V had said “kissing.” At that moment, V turned to RM for help, who clarified that he meant he missed the times Jungkook annoyed him.

Finally, since Jungkook and Jimin served in the same military unit, he obviously couldn’t say he “missed” him. However, there was still soмєтнing he deeply missed about Jimin at present: the gochujang stew that Jimin used to cook for him during their service. Jimin then wrapped up this segment with a firm promise to the group’s youngest member: “I will cook to you.”

Through their words and the way each member remembered even the smallest details about one another, it became clear how much they care for and cherish each other. Especially as these sentiments were shared after BTS returned as a full group following a four-year hiatus, they served as a kind of emotional comfort for fans. These everyday interactions once again prove that BTS are not just a global music group, but a true family that always stands by each other in every circumstance.
When this conversation was shared on social media, fans flooded it with enthusiastic reactions: "This segment is so wholesome!! we are so back to our roots. I missed these kinda segments the mostttt! my serotonin levels increased fr", "Yoongi's 1% battery life - jhope's 100% battery life. My family is so back", "Their reactions are so adorable", "I missed them all and seeing them together again is such a joy. I love you BTS", "They haven't changed a bit, please, they are literally the same like how I knew what there answers gonna be",...
