Just a few days after achieving a hat-trick at the MTV Video Music Awards 2026, BTS headed to Atlanta, USA, to prepare for the opening concert of the South αмєяι¢αn leg of their ARIRANG tour, which will begin in Bogotá, Colombia. Today, only five members departed together, as RM and SUGA had already arrived in Atlanta a few days earlier for their individual schedules.

Although the members looked a little groggy and tired from the early departure, they still appeared friendly and approachable, creating a fun, relaxed atmosphere filled with smiles and laughter. Among the members, Jin stood out in a T-shirt featuring Jungkook posing — a piece of Jungkook’s merch from the release of “GOLDEN” — while Jungkook had two cameras hanging around his neck, once again showing the pαѕѕion for filming and photography of the owner of Golden Closet Film studio.

While both fans and BTS are excitedly looking forward to the next stop on the tour, some ARMYs have also begun expressing concerns on social media about the seven members’ health when they arrive in the city. These concerns stem from posts sharing information about the unique conditions in Bogotá, where BTS will hold two concerts on October 2 and 3, 2026.

According to information currently being discussed among fans, the concert venue is located at an altitude of around 2,640 meters above sea level. At this elevation, the amount of oxygen in the air is significantly lower than at sea level, meaning the body has to work harder to meet its oxygen needs. For a group that has to sing while performing high-intensity choreography for several hours, these conditions have left many ARMYs worried that the members could become tired or short of breath more quickly than usual.

In particular, some fans have raised concerns about the risk of soroche, or altitude sickness, which can cause common symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, nausea, and unusual fatigue. The dry air in Bogotá has also made fans concerned about dry throats and the potential impact on the members’ vocals during their performances.

Several international artists, including Miley Cyrus, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry, have also reportedly experienced similar difficulties while performing in Bogotá, with some even needing oxygen or having to sit down while singing certain songs because they could not handle the altitude.

The case of Katy Perry drew attention in October 2025, when she posted a selfie wearing an oxygen mask shortly after her concert with the caption, “Singing and dancing at over 8,000 feet, no problemo Bogota, Colombia.” Even more notably, Miley Cyrus performed in the city in March 2022 after having only about one night to acclimatize to the city. During the concert, the singer told the au∂ιєnce that she was not feeling well but still tried to complete the show. Several Colombian outlets, including Las2orillas, Semana, El Espectador, and El Tiempo, later reported that she had to temporarily stop the show, felt nauseous to the point of nearly vomiting, and had to sit down while singing some songs because of the altitude.

With BTS expected to have only around two days to get used to the local weather and altitude, many ARMYs are concerned that this may not be enough time for their bo∂ιєs to fully acclimatize. It generally takes around three to four days for the body to adjust more comfortably to high altitude. This could make Bogotá one of the more physically demanding stops of the ARIRANG tour’s South αмєяι¢αn leg.

Still, fans also believe that BTS and their team are certainly aware of these special conditions and have made appropriate preparations ahead of the two concerts. For now, what fans are looking forward to most is not only seeing explosive performances in Bogotá, but also hoping that all seven members can stay in good condition and safely complete both concerts:

- They usually say it'd take around 48hrs for first time visitors to get used to the high altitude in Bogotá, so I hope they don't get altitude sickness when they reach

- Bogotá’s altitude is no joke. With how much they run around during the concert I hope they have plenty of oxygen between stages

- I’m sure if it varies for every person and the area you are in, in bogota. i traveled there back in 2012, i don’t recall any feeling of altitude sickness during the time i went. hopefully for them, they don’t experience any symptoms and soundcheck/concerts go well

- Perhaps the earlier departure is simply to allow them enough time to acclimatize to bogota’s altitude. I honestly expected them to leave on October 1 considering they usually travel just a day before the concert. Given the circumstances, this feels rather sensible

- Bogotá's actually very humid, which is even worse. But I think they’re well informed and well prepared. Their exercise routines have probably been curated to take care of that. I hope. Fingers crossed

- The Colombian Army is very concerned about this; we thought they would arrive a little earlier to give their band time to acclimatise to the altitude, as they’ve had to use oxygen at concerts by other artists. We hope everything goes well and that both they and we enjoy the show

- Health is the most important thing may bts pls not overexert themselves and make sure to take breaks, drink water, and take off their jackets if they have to truly health is always one
