Dating or getting married is wonderful news for anyone, but if you're a celebrity, you'd better be careful. It may not be good news at all—instead, it could mark the end of your career. K-pop has long maintained extremely high expectations regarding idols' public image, leading many people to believe that idols are supposed to remain single. At the same time, the idol industry is built on emotional connections with fans, so some supporters may feel "betrayed" if their favorite artist starts dating or gets married.
This is especially true for global K-pop superstars like BTS, who have had to be extremely cautious about their private lives in order to avoid negative consequences for both their careers and everyone involved. Throughout their 13 years together, the members have rarely been linked to any genuine dating controversies despite countless baseless rumors. At one point, Jungkook and RM even went on livestreams to clarify that they were single and that romance was not a priority for them at the time.

However, that does not mean they have never thought about the future. BTS members have always been fairly open about their views on marriage and starting a family when talking with fans. They even answered questions about the age at which they believed they would be ready to get married. Ironically, after so many years, time seems to have denied some of them the opportunity to fulfill those plans.
It is also worth noting that when they answered these questions, BTS probably never imagined that their careers would reach such extraordinary heights. As a result, most of the members envisioned getting married at a relatively young age!
According to fans who recorded their answers at the time, Jin and V planned to marry quite early, at the ages of 31 and 30 respectively. RM chose the age of 32–33, while SUGA and Jimin shared a similar idea of getting married around 35–36 years old. (Jimin's answer was "15 years later," and he was 20 years old at the time.) Looking back now, Jin and V have already pαѕѕed the ages they once set for themselves without publicly confirming any romantic relationship. Considering how tirelessly the two superstars have worked over the years, that is hardly surprising.

Meanwhile, RM has only one or two years left if he hopes to stick to his original "plan," while SUGA is in a similar situation. Jimin, on the other hand, still has about five years left—plenty of time if he happens to find a girlfriend soon. Nevertheless, all of them are currently single and will remain busy throughout the coming year with BTS's world tour and group schedules. More importantly, it is only recently that they have begun speaking more seriously about love and marriage. RM, in particular, has admitted several times that getting married may actually be difficult for him.
During a livestream late last year, he shared, “If I get married too early, people might be sad. If I find the right person now, I’ll get married, but at this point, I might end up not getting married at all. I don’t know; there really isn’t a clear answer. When my parents were my age, they were already married and had a three-year-old child. Nowadays, that’s not so easy.” On another occasion, the rapper candidly reflected, "Can such a thing happen in my life? Before, I thought it was a natural process, but a few years ago, I thought, 'Maybe I won't get married?'"

As for SUGA, during a livestream after a concert in April, Jimin jokingly told him, "Hyung, at this point, just marry someone already! Even if you have to get a divorce!" In response, SUGA delivered an equally υиєχρє¢тє∂ line: "Well, I am at marriageable age now. I'm older than my dad was when he had me—my dad had me in his 30s."
In contrast to the other members, j-hope and Jungkook gave an almost unbelievable answer. j-hope humorously wrote that he would get married at the age of 100. If that ever happened, would he become one of the oldest grooms ever to walk down the aisle? Even if he chose to marry at that age, there would probably still be countless fans willing to wait and celebrate with him. Interestingly, the youngest member, Jungkook, gave exactly the same answer as j-hope, prompting fans to joke that the two of them would belong to ARMY forever.

In the end, a plan is just a plan! No one can know exactly when love will arrive or when the right time for marriage will be. After dedicating so many years to their careers, if the BTS members one day decide to build families of their own, it will undoubtedly mark a joyful new chapter in their lives. And as fans, the most important thing we can do is respect and support whatever choices they make.
