BTS debuted on June 13, 2013. On June 13, 2026, they celebrated their 13th anniversary together in Busan, where more than 100,000 fans attended the concerts in person while millions of viewers watched online around the world. More than a decade of staying active together, even the group's youngest member, Jungkook—who debuted at just 15 years old—is now approaching his 30s.

Although age is just a number, there's no denying that the pαѕѕage of time has brought significant changes to both their personal lives and their careers!

It can be said that the entire coming-of-age journey of all the members is closely intertwined with their careers. The ups and downs of life have shaped them into the top K-pop superstars in their 30s that we see today. Looking back on this journey, if fans were asked to guess without hearing the members’ opinions, most would probably choose Jungkook as the member who has shown the most remarkable growth among them—in terms of appearance, personality, and aura.

However, the members themselves seemingly felt differently. When discussing the topic of “Who is the most mature member?” among BTS, the members gave a variety of answers:

First, SUGA quickly pointed to Jin, saying that he deserved the title the most. The other members also chimed in with humorous reasons, teasing Jin for being the oldest in the group. Jimin joked that Jin “complains a lot,” while V commented that Jin “isn’t childish at all.” In response to BTS’s “accusations,” Jin laughed in disbelief that the members thought of him that way and explained that he acts “childish,” “playful,” or “cute” because he wants to be “on the same level” age-wise with them. Doing so helps him not feel the age gap!

On the other hand, when the discussion became serious, the group reached a unanimous decision: Jimin! RM commented, “I have a lot of respect for Jimin. He's the most adult in our group in a way".  In another interview, RM even compared SUGA and Jimin as examples. “Many people think that SUGA is like the Grandfather of the group, but he acts more like a little kid. Jimin is the opposite, he looks like a baby but inside he’s mature and like a Grandfather”, he clarified to correct fans’ misunderstandings. 

During an appearance on Epik High's talk show, both RM and SUGA spoke candidly about how much they had relied on their younger bandmate during difficult periods of their lives. RM openly referred to Jimin as BTS's "hub," prompting rapper Tablo to conclude that he's essentially the group's "emotional support hub." SUGA also reflected on the emotional support Jimin has provided from their debut until now, saying that he “gets along with Jimin because he's so good-humored and mature”.

Rather than RM and SUGA, j-hope also shared an honest comment: "Jimin is my dongseng, but sometimes I feel that he's my hyung. He likes to joke around, but the way he thinks is mature." In another interview, he also praised Jimin for his “big heart and emotional maturity,” saying that Jimin helps him relieve stress during difficult times. On another occasion, he revealed exactly how it works, saying: "Park Jimin is my laugh button. Whenever I'm having a hard time or feeling completely exhausted, I just poke Jimin, and he always makes me laugh."

Similarly, Jin praised Jimin for being a source of positive energy—always taking care of the members during exhausting tours and lifting the group’s spirits. Jin’s praise, combined with considering Jimin’s age in BTS, reflects that his gestures and way of thinking are far more ‘mature’. And Jungkook names Jimin and RM when he was asked "Which member do you consult the most about your concerns?" in Harper's Bazaar interview, continues proving this claim.

On the other hand, among the youngest members (“maknae line”), Jimin stands out as someone who truly feels like an older brother to the other two. V called him his “best friend,” saying that talking with Jimin always gives him strength and motivation. Jungkook admitted that the group’s emotional balance is largely thanks to Jimin’s kind and thoughtful personality, and thanked him for helping maintain harmony within BTS.

In the end, the members’ answers made one thing clear to fans: maturity is not defined by age or time. Each member of BTS has matured in their own way, but when it comes to emotional depth and inner growth, Jimin is arguably the most outstanding.

At this point, fans fully acknowledged the members’ conclusion and responded emotionally to this deep discussion among the members:
