The pαѕѕionate love Mexican fans have for BTS is undeniable. According to data released by Spotify in 2025, BTS was ranked by Mexican listeners as the most-streamed artist on the platform. Eight out of the top 10 albums on мєχι¢σ’s K-pop chart were BTS releases. Local newspaper El Universal also reported that мєχι¢σ City is currently the city with the highest number of BTS listeners on Spotify.
The atmosphere at BTS’s first concert in мєχι¢σ after nearly nine years clearly reflected this reality. More than 65,000 fans filled Estadio GNP Seguros, pαѕѕionately cheering for every performance. Meanwhile, tens of thousands of fans without tickets still gathered around the outside of the stadium, even climbing trees and nearby structures just to hear the music or catch a distant glimpse of the BTS concert.
This pαѕѕionate support from Mexican ARMYs amazed and impressed the global fan community. However, what many found unacceptable was that, in contrast to this positive admiration, some people crossed the line by following and stalking the members even during their rare day off before the second concert.
According to numerous videos circulating on social media, a large crowd gathered outside the hotel where BTS were staying in мєχι¢σ City. Although it was already nighttime and the area was not a designated fan location but a public space, long lines of noisy fans surrounded the roads and alleys around the hotel. The crowd waited in hopes of seeing BTS come outside or getting a chance to interact closely with the K-pop superstars.
However, what made ARMYs feel “thrilled” came shortly afterward, when a series of actions from the BTS members showed that the crowd’s waiting outside the hotel was completely pointless. Most notably, V recently uploaded several stories on Instagram showing himself out enjoying food and spending time outside rather than staying at the hotel.
Meanwhile, SUGA posted a photo directly from Arena México, revealing that he was attending a wrestling event. Videos from the venue also quickly spread across social media, showing that besides Suga, Jin, Jungkook, and Jimin were there as well. In the clips, the four members appeared to be thoroughly enjoying the matches, cheering enthusiastically, and even having humorous interactions with the wrestlers.
Fans’ reactions quickly became a hot topic online. One ARMY wrote: “Hey girls, did you see Yoongi’s story? I don’t think they’re at their hotel, I’m so happy. Now get those people out of there/chase them away!” Another sarcastically commented: “Those idiots are out there screaming while they [BTS] are chillin’ and enjoying the wrestling matches.”
Another video shared on social media captured several ARMYs at the scene directly yelling at the crowd to leave, while also calling on local authorities to disperse the gathering so the BTS members could have privacy and comfort to rest before the upcoming concerts.
Witnessing the situation unfold online, many fans expressed anger and frustration, commenting:
