BTS is not simply an entertainment group, but has become a cultural icon with global brand power. Their influence is so great that everything they touch or any place they have ever set foot in immediately becomes the center of a mαѕѕive global “hunt.” Fans and netizens crave experiences that allow them to feel connected to the group, creating explosive media attention and opening up huge commercial opportunities for the brands that BTS “names.”
Recently, a restaurant in California has been receiving this kind of good fortune after being visited by three BTS members. It is Restaurant Ki, a modern кσяєαn fine dining restaurant with one Michelin star, located at 111 San Pedro St, Los Angeles. Situated in Little Tokyo, the restaurant is known for its high-end tasting menu, with only around 10–12 seats at the kitchen counter and usually one dinner seating around 18:30, priced at approximately $285–$300 per person.
Chef Ki Kim, who has previously worked at renowned restaurants such as Atomix, Jungsik, and Benu, focuses on reinterpreting traditional кσяєαn ingre∂ιєnts and flavors such as kimchi, perilla, doenjang, and gochujang through creative techniques that combine French culinary styles with seasonal ingre∂ιєnts. Some of the unique dishes on their menu include modern gimbap with truffle, kimchi, and shirako; crispy octopus with a sauce made from the octopus head; lobster paired with raspberry powder or doenjang; perilla ice cream; and noodles with Dungeness crab or pine mushrooms.

But what is even more noteworthy about j-hope, V, and Jungkook’s visit is that the restaurant seemingly broke its usual rules for them!
Specifically, fans discovered that the three members celebrated Jungkook’s birthday together at Restaurant Ki on Monday, August 31, according to local Los Angeles time. Meanwhile, the restaurant’s introduction states that it is normally closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. This means that the restaurant opened specially for them — breaking its own rules just to serve some of the biggest K-pop superstars in the world.
Not only that, according to what Jungkook shared during yesterday’s livestream, the restaurant’s chef personally prepared a birthday cake and seαωєed soup — dishes that кσяєαns traditionally have on their birthdays — at the request of j-hope and V, exclusively for the Golden Maknae. Jungkook also gave the chef high praise after experiencing the restaurant’s dishes, saying, “The chef-nim has great sense.”

Through the video and photos shared by j-hope and V on Instagram, fans also got a visual glimpse of the celebration at the restaurant that day. The chef brought out a fruit birthday cake decorated with glowing candles, while j-hope and V sang “Happy Birthday” in кσяєαn, and the youngest member, Jungkook, happily blew out the candles. The moment Jungkook joyfully enjoyed a bowl of traditional seαωєed soup — soмєтнing he thought he would not have time to have on this birthday away from home — also warmed fans’ hearts.
In addition, after revisiting these moments, fans noticed another detail that further supports the idea that the restaurant had opened exclusively for BTS. At first, when they saw the footage, many αѕѕumed that Jungkook, V, and j-hope had simply reserved a private room at an omakase restaurant to enjoy their meal in privacy, since there were no other customers visible in the frame. However, the truth was that the restaurant had specially opened its doors entirely to serve the K-pop superstars, even though it was the regular day off for the entire kitchen and staff.
Fans could not help but marvel at the situation, sharing their reactions: "HISTORY REALLY REPEATING ITSELF LIKE ATOMIX", "That makes me scream louder", "Imagine your birthday surprise being at a Michelin-star restaurant that was opened solely and exclusively for you to celebrate", "Rare aesthetic; having Michelin star chefs open their restaurant specifically for you to make off menu items", "the kind of things I would do if I were a millionaire", "Lurve the privilage",...
