The global media and fans were completely stunned by the news that RM will host a special exhibition with the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) in October 2026. While RM’s deep knowledge and extensive collection of contemporary art have already been widely recognized, this collaboration—proposed for the first time by SFMOMA—marks an official acknowledgment of his influence that extends far beyond music and outside the boundaries of being a K-pop idol.
Speaking about the concept of the exhibition, RM shared: “We live in an age defined by boundaries. This exhibition at SFMOMA reflects those boundaries: between East and West, кσяєα and αмєяι¢α, the modern and the contemporary, the personal and the universal.”
Meanwhile, introducing this major event on his Instagram account, the BTS leader sincerely expressed: “Since I began visiting museums in 2018, I’ve been learning and collecting step by step, and it feels both humbling and meaningful to now prepare this exhibition.”
