The Common Thread Among BTS’s Pets Leads Fans To Discover A Heartwarming, Proud Truth

For a long time, BTS have been known for the special love the members have for their pets. Dogs, cats, and even a flying squirrel such as Bam, Yeontan, Holly, Mickey, Moni, Odeng & Eomuk, and Geureum...have become familiar names to fans, as the members have introduced them repeatedly through live broadcasts and interviews. These beloved companions quickly captured the hearts of ARMY around the world. BTS’s pets are not merely animals they raise, but rather “extended members” of the BTS family.

What has left the deepest impression on fans, however, is the strong bond between the seven members and their beloved “children.” Fans have witnessed the members bringing their pets along to work or taking them out for walks. V was even once seen bringing Yeontan all the way to the airport, unable to part with him before leaving for an overseas schedule. Fans adore seeing the members shower their pets with affection or share adorable selfies together.

Jungkook even created a separate Instagram account for his “son” Bam, despite previously deleting his own Instagram because he did not enjoy using the platform regularly. Fans have also been deeply moved by moments when Jungkook, j-hope, and V openly showed their concern and worry whenever their pets faced health issues.

While the members’ immense love for their pets has never been in doubt, fans have recently noticed another striking commonality within BTS’s “pet circle.” Most of the pets adopted by BTS come from difficult or unfortunate backgrounds—most notably Yeontan, Holly, Seoltang, Bam, Mickey, and j-hope’s two recently revealed cats. This fact once again reflects their values and admirable character.

Many fans clearly remember V sharing that Yeontan was a frail dog from birth who suffered from respiratory problems and was abandoned by his previous owner. In a later interview, V explained in more detail that Yeontan also had a severe heart condition and frequently struggled to breathe during physical activity. Throughout the eight years he lived with V, Yeontan underwent two major surgeries, each carrying a very high risk of ∂єαтн. Although he survived both procedures, neither surgery was ultimately successful.

In December 2024, V left fans heartbroken when he shared the sad news: “Yeontan has embarked on a long journey to the dog stars. I thought a lot about how to tell you this, but I felt it was right to share this news with ARMY, who have shown so much love for Yeontan.”

Jungkook’s Bam also did not have an easy start in life. Bam was once described as “a puppy that was not getting his mom’s milk and was only being fed dog food.” Notably, although Dobermans are typically docked and have their ears cropped when they reach a certain age, Jungkook chose not to do so.

Meanwhile, Holly was also adopted by SUGA’s family after being abandoned. In addition, during a live broadcast in December, SUGA revealed Seoltang for the first time—a three-year-old black cat born to a stray. SUGA shared, “Tang’s father is a street cat, and Tang was born all of a sudden, so I brought him in.” He added, “Someone I know suddenly had about six kittens born. The father is a street cat… so suddenly six kittens were born.”

Similarly, j-hope’s family dog Mickey also came from a нєαятвяєαкιиg background. Mickey was abandoned at a gas station and later taken in by j-hope’s mother and sister. As Mickey fell ill over time, j-hope’s love for animals deepened even further. During that period, he adopted two cats from difficult circumstances, which he only recently revealed following SUGA’s broadcast with Seoltang.

j-hope shared: “Before going to the military, I had a film shoot and I went to the set and there were so many tiny kittens there. There was a kitten who had an eye that looked half… how do I say this… a bit necrotic. It made me so sad. I felt I needed to get it treated, so I rescued that cat and brought it to a hospital.” He also spoke about the other cat: “The other cat is a very pretty cat that was abandoned, and it was нєαятвяєαкιиg that it couldn’t find a good home, so I brought it home myself.”

The stories behind BTS’s pets have led fans to realize a truth they can be deeply proud of: BTS possess sensitivity and compαѕѕion toward all living beings, without placing value on a life based on status or worth. Whether it is a frail puppy, an injured stray cat, or an abandoned pet with nowhere to go, every life is treated with love and protection.

In a world where everything is often measured by benefit and profit, BTS stand as a clear embodiment of compαѕѕion and kindness—leaving fans deeply moved and unable to help but reflect:

- They don’t just rescue humans…BTS finds you/you find them when you need them most. Goes for animals too

- Life feels so much better knowing ppl like them are around

- One of the reasons I don't do pets now is because I get depressed when they pαѕѕ away. So I actually admire the Tannies that they adopt pets that are abandoned or have health issues cause chances of them not living long even if u take care of them diligently is super high.

- How can anyone not love these angels. They have very kind hearts

- They're literally angels. They saved many army's lives and still saving many, and  now they're saving animals' lives. God literally sent them as an apology for creating this cruel world

- another reason (of millions) why I love them sm my animal welfare kings

- BTS will never be the bad people brainless kpoppies want them to be.

- one way to know we stan good people, one more reason to respect them even more

- They are so precious. They have pure hearts.
