The Instagram accounts of celebrities are clearly among the most valuable αѕѕets, as they are not only a means of connecting with fans but also closely tied to influence, branding, and even business. Even in cases where their Instagram accounts are not commercially driven—such as with the members of BTS—their importance does not diminish, since fans and media closely monitor every move they make on the platform.
Meanwhile, about half of the members, such as V, j-hope, and RM, are very active on these platforms, while others only occasionally share their favorite photos—and some, like Jungkook, do not post at all. However, as mentioned, regardless of the volume of posts, every Instagram post and Story by the members attracts significant attention.
Moreover, for fans, every moment the members share on social media is extremely precious. ARMYs often view the members’ Instagram accounts as a vivid portrait museum of their personal lives. Therefore, when some members recently began “cleaning up” this museum, even deleting posts they no longer felt were appropriate, fans quickly noticed and expressed surprise and regret.
The most recent member to cause a major stir on Instagram was SUGA. On February 14, while fans around the world were immersed in Valentine’s celebrations, SUGA υиєχρє¢тє∂ly archived 104 posts on Instagram, leaving only 47 older posts visible on his account. The remaining posts mainly revolve around brands he represents as an ambαѕѕador, collaborative music projects, solo concerts, and a few recent everyday moments.

Before SUGA, RM and Jimin had also done soмєтнing similar with their personal accounts not long ago. At the end of January this year, RM deleted nearly all of the posts on his Instagram, leaving only a few recent updates and one post related to his solo exhibition. This was not RM’s first time doing such a cleanup, but it was arguably the most thorough—his account went from nearly 200 posts to just four. Like SUGA, he did not explain the reason behind this move.

As for Jimin, at the end of last December, just before the New Year, he also deleted everything he had shared over the years. He then refreshed his Instagram feed with three new posts at once, along with several Stories to reαѕѕure fans, all with a Christmas theme.

Jimin went a step further than RM and SUGA by explaining his decision. He wrote on Weverse at the time: "Finally, my Instagram is open. I think I changed my pαѕѕword 8 times. Anyway, I wanted to start fresh from the beginning, so I tried deleting everything once. ARMY everyone, are you having a good Christmas? Eat lots of delicious food and have a happy Christmas. Merry Christmas."
Fans have speculated that most of the members want to clean up their Instagram accounts to prepare for a new chapter in their careers starting in 2026. While they fully respect their idols’ decisions, many fans still feel nostalgic about the past photos. The moves by SUGA, RM, and Jimin have also made them more alert about the accounts of Jin, j-hope, and V. ARMYs are now advising each other to gradually save old posts from the remaining accounts to prepare themselves emotionally:
- It's time to save Jin V jhope photos. I’m starting to feel worried
- I’ll never forget you my sweetie mysterious darling. But also maybe he wants to post more new photos in 2026
- Hear me out!!! WE ARE GETTING THE CONCEPT PHOTOS!
- So the mysterious pictures are now gone without we even know what that was about and the behind video? Let’s just kms
- Wtf are they doing I'm going INSANE. Most importantly, we need to save Jin, j-hope, and V's photos right now before it's too late!
- The annual cleansing has begun.. but it's a bit late in the year, babe?!We should set some ground rules, mister. You can't keep archiving even if it is your account. You get yearly one archiving ticket, use it well, and do not disturb worldwide army's favorite art gallery!
- I’m a little sad seeing the old posts go, but if they feel happier starting fresh, I fully support them
- I’m a bit sad to see those memories archived, but I respect his decision. It’s his space and his journey
- Lowkey heartbroken, but I trust them. They will bring even more exciting things from now on
- It hurts to see the old memories go, but I know he’s starting a new chapter. Proud of you, Yoongi
- ARMY will miss those moments, but we’ll keep supporting whatever path they choose. And people need to save other members' photos rn
