Stray Kids Bang Chan Draws Attention For His Honest Comment About RM

Debuting with Stray Kids in 2018, Bang Chan is known as the leader of the group and is famous for his versatility — he can sing, rap, and produce music: not only writing lyrics but also arranging, making beats, and producing vocals. He is one of the rare new-generation idols who has the ability to oversee and be deeply involved in the entire music production process for his own group.

Although Bang Chan has never collaborated with BTS, nor had the chance to meet or be close friends with the members, due to their career similarities, he has consistently expressed his respect and pαѕѕionate admiration for the superstar seniors — soмєтнing that even ARMYs have noticed.

In a livestream back in 2022, he received a flood of purple hearts in the comments when he played BTS’s song Mikrokosmos. Afterward, he did not hesitate to share his thoughts about the group, saying: "Yeah, I mean, the members of BTS are legends. They paved the way. You have to admit that they paved the way. Anyway, mad respect to BTS. They're amazing."

And of course, that was not the only time! His “pαѕѕionate admiration” for BTS has been shown through many livestreams, even over the years. Notably, in another fan conversation, he directly mentioned RM and gave his thoughts on him — from the perspective of being a fellow K-pop group leader.

He expressed: “RM writes lyrics very well. He’s known to be one of the best leaders and he’s one of my biggest role models. He’s one of the coolest guys out there and really smart as well. I may not be, but he is one of the best leaders.”

Bang Chan was also listening to Seoul from RM’s mixtape mono during this broadcast. “The first time I heard this song, I became overwhelmed with feelings. It almost made me cry because it resonated with me a lot,” he sincerely shared.

Bang Chan was not simply mentioning RM out of polite respect between artists — he genuinely expressed admiration for the talent and character of BTS’s leader. His praise of RM’s lyric-writing sкιℓℓs, as well as calling him “one of the best leaders,” shows just how deeply RM has influenced Bang Chan.

This is also proof that RM is not only loved by ARMYs but is also seen by fellow artists as an ideal role model for leadership.

On the other hand, when Bang Chan spoke about the emotions he felt when listening to mono, he highlighted the power of RM’s music — its ability to touch listeners’ hearts. Since Bang Chan is also a music producer, his recognition carries weight and further emphasizes how outstanding RM’s artistry truly is.
