In today’s technology-driven world, phones seem to be ubiquitous for everyone, especially for the younger generation. Naturally, the BTS members are also very fond of this piece of technology. SUGA is often spotted being attached to his phone nearly 90% of the time behind the scenes.
Meanwhile, the youngest member, Jungkook, has repeatedly affirmed that his phone is one of his indispensable items. In fact, when Vogue asked him to choose three must-have items for a comfortable journey, Jungkook immediately answered: “For now, my mobile phone, pαѕѕport and, let's see, Calvin Klein pieces I believe.”
Other members, including RM, also often show that they carry their phones for communication, entertainment, and most importantly, to take photos to share with ARMY or to go live on Weverse Live! It seems that recently, the BTS leader has switched to a new phone to meet his needs.
During a livestream not long ago, he mentioned having to get used to his new phone: “I recently changed my phone, so my current phone feels a bit unfamiliar and I’m still getting used to it. I’ll naturally share later what kind of phone I switched to.”
This sparked fans’ speculation that his old and new phones might be from different brands, making the new phone’s interface still quite unfamiliar to him. Specifically, the most recent instance was in early September this year, when in his Instagram posts, he was seen using a black-and-wнιтe Samsung Z Flip 7.
Therefore, fans do not rule out the possibility that he switched to an iPhone—a famous brand used by many celebrities and with a different operating system!
This speculation seems fairly accurate, as fans saw a photo of RM at a wedding he recently attended and hosted a few days ago. In his hand, he appeared to be holding an orange-colored phone, similar to the trendy orange iPhone 17 Pro Max popular among young people.
On the other hand, another piece of evidence that ARMY pointed out suggesting he switched to a new iPhone is his latest Instagram post on the afternoon of October 12. Looking at the interface of the post he shared from Rolling Stone’s Instagram Story, fans pointed out that it displays the iOS interface when sharing a post from another Instagram account.
You also can take a look at a small difference between the fonts in the same type of post from j-hope’s Samsung phone and the post from what is believed to be RM’s new iPhone.
If some fans suspected that it might be an orange Samsung Z Flip 6, ARMYs dismissed this speculation because last month he was already using the seventh-generation Samsung. Moreover, RM, as the leader, has been seen using Samsung—running Android—for several years, so if it were a phone from the same brand, he would not feel unfamiliar or take time to get used to it as mentioned in his latest livestream.
Up to now, fans are still leaning toward the possibility that RM owns an iPhone, which, of course, excites them:
- He said he got a new phone—did he switch back to an iPhone? Wow SUGA will not like this haha
- When SUGA keep saying "No iPhone, only Galaxy" and his young brothers keep buying the newest version of iPhone
- Oh my, did he switch back to Apple?? That’s so great..~~ I’m also going to switch to the iPhone 16 Pro soon..It’s not the same model, but it’s still Apple, so I’m happy.. I’m using the 15 right now, but… the 16 Pro has a better camera than the 15..
- Most of them probably have 3 phones, i mean he added an iPhone and still used Samsung
- based on his ig story today he most certainly is using apple, he got rid of his samsung. maybe BTS's contract with Samsung ended
- Today's war: Samsung vs iPhone Who will win?
- So from now on, he has to be more careful; he can’t just throw it around or drop it like he did with the Samsung
- The iPhone Pro fits so perfectly in the hand like that? Everybodys looks at his phone but only me notice this? It makes him ѕєχier and ѕєχier
- If BTS’s contract with Brand S is already over, then I’ll just buy Brand A. But I’ve been a Brand S user for 10 years, what should I do… I’m already emotionally attached
- He seems to be keeping up with youth trends; our Namjoon also has this side
- Maybe he damaged his latest Samsung and wants to try a new experience? I saw that the colors and images from the iPhone in the latest livestream were really good.
- To be honest, the iPhone 17’s camera is much better than the Samsung Z Flip’s. Anyway, it doesn’t matter what phone he uses, as long as he goes live for us
