On the afternoon of the 28th (KST), after wrapping up their concert in Las Vegas, RM (Namjoon) of BTS held a Weverse Live broadcast. During the livestream, he candidly shared stories for over an hour, including how the members cried on the day Jin was discharged from the military, as well as behind-the-scenes secrets surrounding the creation of BTS’s full-group comeback album, “ARIRANG.”
Even though the broadcast took place on a weekday afternoon, more than 3.7 million viewers tuned in live, while comments from fans all around the world poured in nonstop. During the livestream, RM admitted that the album production process was far from smooth: "The members had already gone through their solo activities, so each person's artistic direction was different, what the fans wanted was different, and what the production staff wanted was different too...That's why filtering through the songs that came out was incredibly difficult."
"We walked without setting a fixed path for each other," he expressed with deep emotion. "I think it's a miracle that the album even came out like this. We pulled it off without a single member dropping out."

RM also revealed the production stories behind each track. In particular, fans paid close attention to the behind-the-scenes story of the iconic track “Hooligan” — the song that opens both the album and every concert on BTS’s “ARIRANG” world tour!
According to the BTS leader, “Hooligan” actually began as a project started by j-hope and Jungkook. RM shared that the two had been “stuck” on the song for quite a long time because they felt it had such a unique identity that “only Jungkook and Hobi could make a song like this.”

He explained that Jungkook was the one who suddenly came up with the keyword “Hooligan” and also wrote the iconic hook, “Watch this, watch this beat going hooligan.” Afterward, RM and the other songwriters continued modifying and polishing the track. The rapper also praised producer Elvin Cho — who has previously worked with Rosalía — for bringing in bold beats featuring sounds of knives, motorcycles, and video games, creating the song’s signature rough and edgy atmosphere.
Another revelation from RM that surprised fans was the fact that “Hooligan” became the “standard” for the entire album. RM explained that about a month after the demo was completed in Jungkook and j-hope’s studio room, both the company and founder Bang Si-hyuk absolutely loved the song. Because “Hooligan” carried such a powerful old-school hip-hop vibe and felt like a title track, the group spent the remaining month of production trying to create other songs strong enough to “overpower” its energy. “That was a really huge contribution from Hobi and Jungkook,” RM emphasized once again.
RM’s comments immediately reminded fans of another detail he had previously revealed about “Hooligan” during BTS’s “ARIRANG” promotion event in the U.S. at Spotify SWIMSIDE. At the time, RM mentioned that the α∂∂ι¢тινє “hahahahahaha” part in “Hooligan” was also Jungkook’s idea. He even commented on how hard it was to pull off and asked Jungkook to perform it in front of fans.
Besides these revelations, RM also concluded by sharing: “The choreo that Taehyungie suggested was really strong like this, but whether it was the company’s idea or because of various people’s opinions, it was changed into the finger-pointing move so that it could become a challenge. But then another challenge involving moving your waist was made, and this finger-pointing move never really became the challenge that fans followed.”
Finally, he wrapped up by saying: “Anyways, I really like Hooligan. I’m not sure about more behind-the-scenes stories of Hooligan, hope you guys will ask Hobi and Jungkook about it during their lives.”
Following RM’s revelations about the creation of “Hooligan,” ARMYs could not help but admire the incredible creativity of j-hope and Jungkook. The two members played a huge role in shaping the musical identity of BTS’s comeback album. At the same time, RM’s words once again highlighted BTS’s core value — their strength has never been about shining individually, but rather about how all seven members complement and complete one another perfectly.
Not only “Hooligan,” but every song on BTS’s “ARIRANG” album was born through the same process. “ARIRANG” stands as the ultimate culmination of musical maturity, endless creativity, and BTS’s flawless teamwork. Fans were deeply moved, expressing:
- I love how everyone in group and specially joon, are always giving credits to each other wherever it should be given. There is no me first in the group and thats why they work. Thats beauty of Bangtan
- My boys are geniuses. Shout out to JK and j-hope for creating Hooligan masterpiece
- Jungkook naming a beat Hooligan makes too much sense. My roman empire is Jungkook's music range being from 'Still with You' to 'Hooligan'.
- Which is why ill always defend hooligan especially from antis. this was directly the member's hard work and to see that getting bashed without proper input on meaning frustrates me
- Absolute perfection! We are watching hooligan become a household favorite in real time! Hobi and jk did such a great job. Ik antis are fuming hard but love, that hooligan is getting all the love!
- Their chemistry in music production is on another level, and you can feel how much pαѕѕion they poured into it
- Imagine creating a song so good that the entire album had to be built around surpαѕѕing it… Hobi and Jungkook are truly on another level
- What makes BTS special is that their teamwork always shines brighter than individual ego. Seven artists with completely different ideas still managed to create soмєтнing as cohesive as ARIRANG — that’s real trust, creativity, and respect for each other
