Every year on March 8, International Women’s Day is a special occasion to honor the important women in our lives. The day is often filled with warm wishes, touching stories, and memorable moments celebrating women’s love, sacrifice, and strength.

For the BTS fandom community, this day is not only an opportunity for female ARMYs to celebrate together, but also a time when they mention the female members of the BTS “extended family” — from the members’ grandmothers and mothers to their sisters. These women have played an important role in shaping the personalities and career paths of the seven young men.

Among the stories that resurface during this time, the love story between Jungkook’s mother and father υиєχρє¢тє∂ly went viral again on this occasion.

The story originated from a television program where Jungkook had a conversation with famous MC Kang Ho Dong. During the discussion, Kang Ho Dong was quite surprised when Jungkook revealed that his father was born in 1971. Interestingly, this means Jungkook’s father is actually younger than Kang Ho Dong, despite already having a fully grown son who is globally famous.

Kang Ho Dong also realized how “significant” the age gap between himself and Jungkook was, but the idol comforted him by explaining that his father had gotten married at quite a young age. At that point, the MC became curious about how Jungkook’s parents had started their relationship. Jungkook’s revelation left everyone surprised and laughing.

According to the singer, it was his mother who took the initiative to approach his father first. Jungkook jokingly said that his mother had fallen for his father’s charming looks, so she decided to be the one who started flirting with him. The result of that romantic story is now a happy marriage of more than 30 years and two sons who have grown up well and built successful careers.

This amusing story also reveals how Jungkook’s personality seems to be influenced by both of his parents. He appears to have inherited his determination from his mother while carrying his father’s adorably shy personality.
