About a week ago, ARMYs had to step up to defend Jungkook and Bam against a wave of malicious attacks launched by ill-intentioned individuals targeting their father–son bond. This attack was widely seen as part of a deliberate smear campaign against Jungkook—one that appeared to be premeditated and carried out repeatedly since early December in an attempt to damage his reputation and negatively impact BTS ahead of their upcoming comeback.

At the time, several social media accounts spread allegations claiming that Jungkook had abandoned his Doberman, Bam, at a training center despite having already been discharged from the military. Posts harshly condemning Jungkook circulated online, including remarks such as, “Jungkook… why haven’t you brought Bam home yet?” and “This has been suspicious for a long time… He brought his aunt home, his childhood friend home, and even his (new!) girlfriend home. But not his own dog—the one he calls his son? Seriously, what is he doing?”

Another post went even further by deliberately distorting a statement Jungkook made in December 2023, accusing him of using those words as an excuse to justify abandoning his dog and portraying him as irresponsible. In reality, Jungkook had explained that he had found a reliable place to care for Bam while he was busy with his schedule, and gave advice for those who truly wants to raise a pet that they must have time, resources, and ability to properly care for them—otherwise, it would be unfair to their pet.

Sending Bam to a professional care and training facility had already been Jungkook’s established practice for years whenever he was unable to stay home. Importantly, Dobermans are unlike most companion dog breeds—they require structured training from a young age and ample space to exercise. As such, this arrangement was the best possible form of care Jungkook could provide for Bam. This is the truth, not the baseless and misleading accusations fabricated by haters to distort public perception.

Although ARMYs understood the facts and actively spoke out to correct the narrative, malicious speculation continued to circulate up until recently. Fortunately, Jungkook himself delivered a decisive response that completely shut down the rumors. In the latest episode of Are You Sure 2, released on the 17th, Jungkook addressed Bam directly—effectively putting an end to the false claims surrounding their relationship.

Specifically, during a moment when Jimin and Jungkook were driving together, Jimin asked Jungkook to leave a message for his beloved “son,” Bam, with emotional background music playing. Jungkook did not hesitate to take the opportunity, tenderly saying: “Bam, it’s me. How are you? Since you’ve been sick so often lately, I haven’t been able to take care of you well. I’m sorry for being so lacking. It breaks my heart. Seeing that you’re doing well there, I feel relieved. And I just hope you’re happy. I’ll go see you as soon as I’m back in кσяєα.”

Are haters seriously trying to claim a father who says soмєтнing this heartfelt has abandoned his beloved dog? If so, they are clearly no longer thinking rationally and have completely ℓσѕт touch with reality.

It is also worth noting that just four days after being discharged, Jungkook traveled to ѕωιтzєяℓαи∂ to film Are You Sure 2. This video message to Bam was recorded approximately three days after his arrival there. In other words, even though his schedule prevented him from seeing Bam immediately after discharge, Bam was clearly never absent from his thoughts. If this is not genuine love and devotion toward one’s pet, then it is difficult to imagine what would qualify as such!

Meanwhile, Jungkook’s mention of Bam in this episode reminded fans of a livestream he held in late August, during which he revealed that Bam had been injured and was receiving treatment at a care facility. At the time, Jungkook said: “Bam is doing well. He’s doing super well. Bam must have been really hurt, so I’m very sad. They don’t know when his disc was injured. They’re taking good care of him, so he’s doing much better now.”

About a month later, during another livestream in late September, fans υиєχρє¢тє∂ly detected signs of Bam at Jungkook’s home. In the video, Jungkook could be heard saying, “Bam Bam… wait… wait!”, accompanied by clattering sounds as if the dog was moving across the floor. This strongly suggested that Bam had recovered enough to be discharged by September and had already returned home, where Jungkook was personally caring for him.

Taken together, the malicious intent behind attempts to damage Jungkook’s reputation—and by extension affect BTS’s comeback next spring—has become increasingly obvious. However, before these efforts could cause any real harm, the truth was already clear for all to see. As the saying goes, “Those who stand upright have nothing to fear.”

Upon hearing Jungkook’s heartfelt message to Bam, fans were deeply moved by the undeniable bond between them. Many also shared messages wishing Bam continued health and happiness, hoping he will live a long and joyful life by his father’s side:
