Jin Opens Up for the First Time About Something He Can’t Control That Makes People Not Want to Be His Friend

In the eyes of Jin’s fans and admirers, many would αѕѕume that the life of a celebrity is soмєтнing to be envied. He has a successful career, immense fame, respect, and wealth. Clearly, the glamorous side of being a celebrity is undeniable.

However, behind that successful career, life as a celebrity comes with its own set of challenges. Jin has spoken candidly on several occasions about the price of being an idol and the downsides of living in the spotlight. One issue he has particularly emphasized is the difficulty of having close, genuine friends.

What makes this especially noteworthy is that becoming famous and struggling to maintain friendships is not soмєтнing Jin ever wanted. It is simply soмєтнing beyond his control!

Specifically, Jin shared that he had heard many friends admit that his status as a famous artist made them feel awkward and even hesitant to interact with him as they had before. It seems that fame had become an obstacle, driving a wedge between Jin and his friends.

Meanwhile, Jin did not have many friends even during his school years, and his circle of close friends became even smaller after he became a trainee. He once told, "I’ve been a trainee since I was 19. Since then I don’t have friends".

Jin also pointed out that being a celebrity has left him feeling socially isolated. Nowadays, aside from BTS, he says there are very few people he genuinely feels comfortable being around. He has fewer than 10 close friends in the entertainment industry, a surprisingly small number compared with what many might expect.

According to Jin, people find it difficult to act naturally around any member of BTS. Despite meeting thousands of people throughout his singing career, finding someone who does not feel “pressured” around them is like searching for a needle in a haystack. "Most people don’t want to be friends with us because they feel pressured", he said.

Jin has not changed who he is since becoming famous, and he has always held on to the belief that his feelings toward the people around him would remain the same, no matter what. However, others may not see things the same way. They might worry about differences in status or fear getting caught up in complications within the entertainment industry.

So that's why the BTS members are so close to each other because they share the same "feeling". At least, for Jin, he also has BTS members always by his side and supporting him!

This is not the first time BTS members have revealed that their personal friendships are not as extensive as people might imagine. RM and SUGA, for example, have spoken about similar experiences in the past. RM once talked about how his old friends hesitated to contact him after he became famous because they worried he might misunderstand their intentions and think they wanted soмєтнing more than an ordinary friendship. Meanwhile, SUGA revealed that his social relationships fell apart when he became a celebrity, as people felt hesitant about befriending an idol.

As fans discussed this topic, many also shared their own thoughts:

- “Feeling pressured” when bts are so down to earth and NEVER let their fame and success get to their head. bts is not the issue. exactly why we say no one has bts’ back except armys and why I ignore multis when they try pushing their faves “relationship” with bts down our throats.

- The throne /is/ the loneliest place. I have tears in my eyes :( my babies :((

- I actually didn't get d pressure part is it becoz of fans ? Or d intimidation in their head

- That’s just envy… pressure my a$$, just envy, they were so happy with that announcement so they called them to verify ?… yep i love how they have eo and people like Coldplay ??

- It's good that they don't need to be friends with those either. It's so lucky that they have each other! I feel so relieved.

- This makes me so sad, like, they would literally make the best kinda budďïệs too ?

- Another side im so gladdd the members have each other

- It’s always been like this, even when they were rookies, other groups and idols avoided them like at music shows

- I suddenly remembered the interview when Jin said I don't have friends ????

- Nauurrr bc if i was an idol i’d def want to be friends with them like their vibes is just immaculate you’ll never sense any weird shít coming from them. like these idols are just weird straight up jealous.
