Jin Establishes His Own Company, Becomes His Own Boss and Brand Ambassador, and the Story Behind It Draws Attention

We often bring up Jin Hit Entertainment and CEO Kim Seok Jin, playing along with the April Fools’ Day joke Jin posted on Twitter several years ago. However, this is also becoming a reality when it comes to the financial resources and business power of BTS superstars today.

Growing up in a family with a business background and possessing a keen business sense, Jin has demonstrated his entrepreneurial abilities alongside his successful idol career from an early age. He once invested in a popular נαραиese restaurant with his older brother and also owns valuable real estate, having made substantial profits from buying and selling properties.

And one of Jin's most notable business deals cannot go unmentioned: IGIN – a South кσяєαn alcoholic beverage brand that is currently attracting the attention of young people.

Many fans are likely familiar with Jin’s role as the global brand ambαѕѕador for this alcoholic beverage line. However, some may not know that Jin is actually one of the people behind the brand. This business venture also appears to be the first time a BTS member has independently developed a product line as a business.

To bring this project to life, Jin and Baek Jong Won established JINI’s LAMP, an agricultural company based in Yesan, South Chungcheong Province, in December 2022. JINI’s LAMP was also the name Jin once mentioned to fans when talking about what he wanted to call his studio. In 2024, they went on to establish Yesan Dogga, later renamed Baeksul Dogga, to handle the distribution of IGIN products developed by JINI’s LAMP.

IGIN is made using local agricultural ingre∂ιєnts from Yesan, most notably apples, along with other fruits such as watermelon and plums. In addition to distilled liquor, the brand also offers ready-to-drink (RTD) beverages under the names IGIN Sweet Tonic and IGIN Sour Tonic.

What makes this story particularly interesting is that the idea behind IGIN stemmed from Jin’s personal pαѕѕion for alcoholic beverages, along with his encounter with Park Rok Dam, a master of traditional кσяєαn liquor. Baek Jong Won connected the two before Jin enlisted in the military. Under Park’s guidance, the idol made traditional liquor by hand and later gifted these special batches to his BTS members and other celebrities he was close to.

At the time, Jin’s handmade liquor gifts sparked envy among fellow celebrities and fans alike, with many expressing hope that they would one day get to try a drink made by Jin himself. However, regulations governing liquor production and distribution limited his ability to share these handmade batches with a wider au∂ιєnce.

This seems to have been part of the reason Jin took things a step further by helping build his own brand, turning his pαѕѕion into a structured business with a broad distribution network that now reaches international markets. Notably, Park Rok Dam also joined JINI’s LAMP as a quality evaluator.

Looking at Jin’s journey in building the brand, fans cannot help but be amazed by his ability to turn a personal interest into a business opportunity, as well as his seemingly natural flair for being a CEO: "Jinnie Lamp, oh Seokjin never forgot his dreams", "He never stops working", "So proud of Seokjin for making his personal interest in traditional liquor step up into a bigger stage", "The coolest part is, Seokjin founded his own company, became the owner of his own business, and then became a global ambαѕѕador for his own product. Flex!", "He’s seriously so iconic", "He knows he’s the best person to represent his brand", "He is rich, successful, talented, handsome, single, hot, and make hoes mad every other business day without even trying..FLEX",...
