Jimin Achieves 2 Major Milestones In The Same Day, Both Of Which Set A New K-pop Record

Achievements may not always fully reflect a person’s true ability, but someone who holds countless milestones surely possesses outstanding talent and has earned recognition in their field. For K-pop idols, every accomplishment or record accumulated over time profoundly reflects their musical talent, influence, and the public’s support for them.

Top positions on reputation rankings or international charts at any given time reveal which artists are most loved by the public. Therefore, to dominate these positions for an extended period also means being recognized as one of the industry’s leading stars.

What’s remarkable is that Jimin has just achieved not one, but two major milestones in a single day. Even more impressively, both of these accomplishments set new records for K-pop, underscoring his unparalleled talent and global impact as a superstar.

The first record to mention is Jimin’s song Who, which has now surpαѕѕed 2 billion streams on Spotify, making it the fastest solo song by a kpop artist to reach this milestone. His agency, Big Hit Music, announced on the 20th: “As of the 18th, the track has surpαѕѕed 2 billion streams.”

Released in July 2024, Jimin’s solo track took just 1 year and 2 months to achieve this new record. Last year, the song was also ranked as the most-streamed K-pop song worldwide in Spotify’s year-end report.

Beyond Spotify, Who has also proven its global appeal on the Billboard charts. It debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, stayed on the chart for 33 weeks, and topped the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100 for 28 weeks. Currently, the track has remained on the Billboard Global 200 and Global Excl. US charts for 60 weeks.

The second record Jimin set was reclaiming the No. 1 spot on the кσяєαn Business Research Institute’s Idol Brand Reputation Rankings. According to data from August 20 to September 20, Jimin—who ranked fourth the previous month—returned to the top among 755 currently promoting male idols, with a total score of 5,390,371.

With this achievement, he has extended his record as the first and only idol to top this ranking for the most months overall—52 months in total. Within that, he was also the first and only idol to hold the top spot for 35 consecutive months (before his enlistment).

“In the link analysis, BTS’s Jimin, who ranked first in male idol brand reputation in September 2025, showed high results in categories such as ‘unique, record, and breakthrough.’ In the keyword analysis, ‘Billboard Chart, Who, Spotify’ ranked high. In the positive/negative analysis, his positive rate was analyzed at 91.27%,” the brand reputation report stated.

His continuous dominance in these rankings highlights Jimin’s immense popularity and influence in the K-pop industry. At the same time, it reflects the widespread public recognition he has earned—not only for his music but also for his broader impact.

Fans are now celebrating these achievements with great pride and excitement:
