j-hope’s New Look Quickly Becomes a Worldwide Trending Topic, Drawing Massive Attention From Netizens

BTS officially kicked off the South αмєяι¢αn leg of their “BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’” in Bogotá, Colombia, on October 2 (local time). According to the schedule, the group has one more show in Bogotá before continuing with a total of 14 performances across five cities, including Lima, Peru; Santiago, Chile; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and São Paulo, вяαzιℓ, throughout this month.

Notably, this marks the first time BTS has held a full-group concert with all seven members in Colombia and Argentina. In Bogotá, the two shows are expected to generate an economic impact of approximately 126.054 billion Colombian pesos (around 51.7 billion KRW) and create 5,244 direct and indirect jobs.

Several hours before the show, Bogotá was already buzzing as fans lined up for hours, with some even camping overnight. Once the music started, El Campín Stadium was packed with more than 53,000 fans singing along in unison. Even those without tickets gathered outside the venue to sing along with the crowd. BTS sent the au∂ιєnce into an even bigger frenzy when they spoke Spanish on stage, including the line, “Bogotá está muy bacana, parce.” (Bogotá is so cool, bro.)

Yet one of the most talked-about moments from the opening night of the Latin αмєяι¢α leg was undoubtedly j-hope’s surprising transformation, as the BTS member appeared with blonde hair that quickly took social media by storm!

A series of photos and videos of j-hope on stage in Bogotá have been circulating online, showing his newly lightened hair in a platinum blonde shade with a silvery tone. The look is completely different from the natural brown hair or subtle highlights he had maintained throughout previous legs of the tour.

Fans had already begun noticing the change in late September, when airport photos and pre-tour stories showed that j-hope’s hair appeared to have been lightened compared to his look during the U.S. leg. However, it was on the El Campín stage that the new hair color became much more noticeable. Combined with his commanding stage presence, the new look quickly became a hot topic on social media.

According to fan-compiled data, j-hope climbed to #19 worldwide on X’s trending topics, while also entering the trends in вяαzιℓ, Peru, мєχι¢σ, Argentina, Chile, and Ecuador. Notably, at the time BTS was performing in Bogotá, it appeared to be the only BTS-related trend in the global Top 50. Fans have also dubbed him “king of LATAM,” with local fans and netizens showing equally intense excitement over his new look.

Netizens’ reactions to j-hope’s new look included: "Blonde hoseok is soмєтнing else", "Omg he looks soooooo good!", "HE LOOKS SO FCKING HOTTTTTYT", "the blonde hair + the wнιтe suit + the blown kiss is just him trolling us on purpose and honestly i respect the chaos more than i should", "My blonde baby back in his latino heartland.
