It is said that the K-pop fan community has no limits in terms of age, gender, or nationality, but we can see that females often make up the majority in fandoms. And ARMY is no exception!
That is probably why the BTS members often pay special attention to speaking up for women in social issues, or tend to show concern and give useful mental advice whenever they have a chance to talk with fans.
Recently, RM’s statement during a live broadcast, in which he talked about marriage and the pressure it puts on young people—especially women—has become a hot topic on кσяєαn and international online communities. Following RM’s comments about marriage, a piece of dating advice from j-hope for ARMY was also brought back into discussion.
The common point of these statements is that they aim to encourage female fans to be cautious when making decisions related to love, as it is not soмєтнing easy or to be rushed.
Firstly, RM’s candid advice was: “It seems like everyone is being chased by the idea of marriage. Especially women — it feels like society and the media put pressure on them regarding children and various other issues, but I hope they can live in their own way. I don’t think there’s a right answer. In the end, if you can’t endure being alone, I wonder if getting married will really make things better. Wouldn’t you still want to be alone even after getting married? Choosing marriage as a means of escaping loneliness seems a bit wrong.”
While кσяєαn society believes that women should have children…, RM boldly gave an unconventional piece of advice. But it is completely reasonable, because marriage is not soмєтнing easy or that can be decided hastily. What is more important than the path society imposes on you is doing what you truly want.
Meanwhile, when a fan asked j-hope, "Oppa, what kind of men should I avoid dating?”, the BTS rapper didn’t even hesitate for a second and directly said, “You should be cautious about all of them.”
j-hope said it with a smile, so many people thought it might be a humorous joke, but since he is a meticulous and thoughtful person, even if it was said playfully, his advice was certainly not empty — it clearly came with practical wisdom. After all, no matter how good someone may seem to you, that may not be his whole self. Therefore, always being cautious before you can be sure is soмєтнing you must do, especially when it comes to romantic relationships.
And yes, you heard it right! The BTS superstars — exemplary men and representations of ideal masculinity — are giving serious warnings to women about all men. These moments also clearly reflect the gentlemanly qualities of the superstars. They do not discourage, but instead encourage their female fans to do what they want, with respect and protection, by offering sincere advice.
These pieces of advice are currently going viral on social media, and fans are overflowing with excited reactions:
- BTS told us not to trust any man, and now I don’t either!
- I trust you guys. It’s better to be single than to date or marry the wrong person
- If Namjoon and Hobi say to be careful, then I’m not taking any risks anymore
- Guys, I get what they meant — “If it’s not us, then don’t.” Fine, I’ll accept that.
- If you learn about the fandom, you will know most of them are women. And yet these global superstar idols with millions of female fans say things like “live your own way,” “don’t let yourself be trapped by society,” “be careful with men”... They truly respect women and care about their fans.
- And then people ask why we love them? LOOK — they are the STANDARD.
- BTS are soмєтнing else. They’re idols, but also like best friends, big brothers, even dad∂ιєs who protect women
- I seriously respect these men and feel so grateful to know them
- I love how they teach positive mindset — no preaching, no clichés — just genuine encouragement to love yourself
- They don’t stop you from dating or getting married; they even encourage it, but just want us to consider carefully before doing soмєтнing. How could anyone not love these men?
