On October 20 (KST), j-hope caught fans’ attention by sharing a series of photos recapping BTS’s concert run in Chile. The photos appeared to show the BTS members enjoying a relaxing outdoor gathering, surrounded by lush greenery. They sat around a table decorated with several glαѕѕes of wine, with arrangements of red roses serving as the centerpiece.

Among the memorable moments shared, one seemingly ordinary photo υиєχρє¢тє∂ly became a major talking point after ARMY noticed a suspicious detail. In the picture, one member appeared to be recording a video of a pigeon pecking at food near where they were sitting. Based on previously shared photos, fans identified the person wearing a reddish-brown shirt in the frame as V.
What caught fans’ attention most was the video-recording interface visible in the photo, which seemed to suggest that V was a Telegram user!

Some fans initially mistook it for WhatsApp, but the two apps have some clear differences. In terms of user interface (UI), Telegram allows the keyboard to remain visible while recording a circular video, matching j-hope’s photo of Taehyung with the кσяєαn keyboard open. WhatsApp, by contrast, typically does not display the keyboard while recording this type of video.
As for functionality, Telegram supports a “one-time view” option for circular video messages, whereas WhatsApp does not offer this feature while recording.
The discovery that V uses Telegram—and may even be a long-time user—left fans pleasantly surprised, especially given that the app has not been particularly well-received in South кσяєα. Some fans also speculated that V might be using the platform to blend into ARMY’s popular group chats.
In fact, this is not the first time V has led fans to suspect that he may have secret social media accounts beyond those he has made public.
V has repeatedly been spotted keeping up with fan discussions on X. In June this year, he was found to have reposted an edited video from a fan account dedicated to him on Instagram. The original edit had already garnered more than 350,000 views before he shared it. V himself had also previously come across fan artwork posted on Twitter by @ArizzoStudios and suggested that Jimin add four more moons to his tattoo.

He has also been suspected on at least two occasions of intending to follow fan accounts through a secondary account but α¢¢ι∂єитally doing so through BTS’s official account instead. In July and September this year, two major V fan accounts υиєχρє¢тє∂ly received follow notifications from BTS’s official X account, which the members themselves have managed for years since the group’s debut. The account subsequently unfollowed both.

Another famous incident from V’s past involved him joining an ARMY group chat on KakaoTalk at around 3 a.m., only to be suspected of impersonation and warned by fans. Despite actively sending voice messages and posting confirmation on Twitter to prove his identity, the fans in the group refused to believe him. In the end, V had no choice but to leave the chat, leaving the fandom stunned the following morning when they realized they had just kicked their own idol out of the group.
Given these clues, fans are surprised to see V seemingly present across almost every social media platform, prompting discussions such as:
- Taehyung being a long-time Telegram user is hilarious considering how Telegram is practically treated like a sin in кσяєα
- Who’s the lucky person that tete will send this beautiful video. He probably put friends only
- Not Taehyung casually using Telegram like he’s one of us in ARMY group chats
- Imagine talking about Taehyung in an ARMY group chat while he’s secretly on the same app. I CAN’T
- Looks like Hobi is helping us out by warning us that Taehyung is keeping an eye on us on this app?
- The possibility of Taehyung lurking in ARMY group chats is sending me. Imagine him reading everything in silence
- Taehyung really is everywhere… X, Instagram, KakaoTalk, and now possibly Telegram too?
