j-hope recently teamed up with HUMAN MADE once again for the second season of the “HUMAN HOPE” collection, releasing a range of new designs across clothing and accessories. The BTS rapper also immediately promoted the new collection by wearing a full set, including clothing and a bucket hat, when he was spotted at the airport departing for נαραи for the brand’s promotional event on the 23rd.

Notably, after images of j-hope in his new HUMAN MADE outfit, along with official product photos, were released, one of the designs became the center of controversy — a light brown bucket hat featuring two “H” letters printed on the front.

Some netizens claimed that the “HH” lettering stood for “Heil, Hitler” or “Hail, Hitler” — an alternative symbol allegedly used to indicate an αѕѕociation with Nazism, which has been banned in Germany since the end of World War II. One person even directly ¢υяѕєd at j-hope, commenting, “Have fun wearing this in Europe on the way to JAIL.”

At the time, ARMYs were also quick to push back, arguing that people were “reading too much into” the design when “HH” was most likely an abbreviation of “HUMAN HOPE” — the name of the collection itself, which is also embroidered on the back of the hat. Even so, many people continued to criticize j-hope directly, accusing him of promoting war, even mentioning how Harry Styles made a similar piece of merch, and had to release an apology for it.

Days after the controversy reached its peak, HUMAN MADE finally issued an official response, making its position clear in defense of both the collection and its brand ambαѕѕador.

In an email sent to customers in response to inquiries about the “HH” logo, HUMAN MADE confirmed that it was simply a logo created from the initials of the collection’s name, emphasizing: “The design in question was not intended to represent or refer to any particular subject or group. It was created strictly as a logo featuring the initials of our collection name, ‘HUMAN HOPE.’”

At this point, fans could not help but become even more frustrated with those who attempted to overinterpret and distort the meaning of the product and collection.

Following the brand’s response, many fans grew even angrier at those who had tried to twist and misrepresent the meaning of the product and collection in order to attack j-hope. Some ARMYs even suspected that the controversy could have been part of a hostile campaign aimed at damaging the idol’s reputation. On the other hand, fans also took some satisfaction in seeing that the plans of those trying to bring j-hope down have never succeeded:
