BTS recently celebrated their 13th debut anniversary with two concert nights in Busan, reaffirming their promise to continue their musical journey together and alongside their fans for many years to come. At this point, BTS is no longer just a music group — they are a family, a united entity that cannot be separated. And for true ARMYs, the number seven has never meant more!

However, that does not mean every fan has learned to respect each member and the bond they share. Some put their personal bias above the group's collective interests, even creating unnecessary comparisons between members that spark debates and disrupt harmony within the fandom.
One of the more controversial topics that has repeatedly been used for comparison involves BTS members' individual brand deals. As many fans know, in recent years, the members have not only focused on group activities but have also served as ambαѕѕadors for numerous globally recognized brands. Each member represents different companies, with varying numbers of endorsement contracts across a wide range of industries.

While signing with a brand is ultimately a personal decision and depends on many different factors, some toxic fans began comparing the number of endorsement deals secured by each member. Notably, Jin once came across one such heated discussion. Rather than scrolling past it, he chose to respond directly, shutting down the pointless debate and earning widespread praise from the fandom.
At the time, Jin spotted a post on Weverse featuring a graphic listing the brands for which BTS members served as ambαѕѕadors or representatives. The post appeared to imply a comparison of endorsement deals among the members. In response, Jin commented that judging the members based on the number of advertising contracts they had was unnecessary because all of them had received plenty of offers.
He wrote, “Oh, it's just that I did a lot, but the other members actually get tons of ad offers too, like dozens or hundreds! They just choose not to do them. Even I've turned down more than a dozen myself... I think I'm gonna focus on what I'm doing now and probably won't take on any more...? (Though if soмєтнing I really like pops up, I might totally change my mind, haha!)”

By emphasizing that the other members had also received “dozens or even hundreds” of offers, Jin subtly defended his bandmates without putting anyone else down. He made it clear that any differences were not the result of individual capability or disparities among the members themselves, but rather personal choices and different career priorities. His response also offered a glimpse into how naturally he steps up to protect the members of BTS whenever he feels it is necessary.
In particular, his humorous remarks about having “turned down more than a dozen myself” and potentially changing his mind if soмєтнing he genuinely liked came along highlighted the fact that both he and the other BTS members carefully evaluate endorsement opportunities based on personal interest and suitability. His comments helped diffuse tensions surrounding the discussion while reinforcing the group's professionalism and thoughtful approach toward their work.
This witty yet insightful response was warmly received by fans, who praised Jin for sкιℓℓfully ending unnecessary comparisons without causing further conflict:
- Yes, ARMYs, please stop comparing them… and this is for all of you who laughed at him back then.
- Its just a slap in face of solos who kept on comparing the boys to each other…just love how Jiin correct time without being rude
- Proof time n time again that bangtan choose themselves what they want to do. Dont mind pathetic akgae/solos who think they got sabotaged cuz each bangtan knows how to handle themselves
- he is such a humble human being, but i hope we don't post of a comparison photo like this on wv bec i don't want to make jin feel bad about the comparison... he might have turned down more offers or step back bec of this, thinking we're just comparing him with other members
- beating the “victim mentality” of solos for the members. THEY HAVE FULL AUTONOMY
- LOVE HOW HE CLEARED EVERYONE WHY THEY DONT HAVE SAME NUMBER OF ADS
- jin saw someone lowkey shading jungkook and shut that down so fast lmfaooo
- Seokjin is so secure in himself, he doesn't drag others down to uplift him, such a positive mindset to have. He's so humble, he doesn't have mean bone in his body. No ounce of jealousy, envy or hatred. Just happy, beautiful and big hearted
