Cha Eunwoo’s Brother Creates An AI System To Protect Celebrities From Malicious Comments, Gains Strong Support From ARMYs

For ARMYs, ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo is not only known as one of the top male visual stars in K-pop but also as a close friend of Jungkook. Their friendship is so deep that Jungkook — an idol who rarely attends events outside of his own promotional schedule — enthusiastically appeared at the pre-premiere screening of the movie “The First Ride” and showed warm support for his friend.

Because of this, ARMYs also frequently pay attention to news related to Cha Eun Woo. Although updates about the idol have been scarce recently due to his hiatus for military enlistment, one particularly notable piece of news has spread widely across social media these days — and it is about his younger brother, Lee Dong Hwi.

Lee Dong Hwi attended the AI Summit Seoul & Expo 2025 and made a major impression after proposing a technological idea aimed at protecting celebrities from waves of defamation and extreme criticism on social media. All public figures face this issue. Meanwhile, Cha Eun Woo, Jungkook, and the BTS members are among the most heavily targeted victims because they are top K-pop superstars.

Lee Dong Hwi shared that he initially developed an AI data-collection model specifically for managing the public image of his brother, Cha Eun Woo. The model quickly attracted the attention of many businesses due to its potential applications in brand analysis, consumer behavior insights, and product marketing strategy.

Lee said: “I stu∂ιєd communications in ¢нιиα, then worked in advertising and joined this project. I was fortunate to be invited to speak here. Because I have lived in an environment close to artists, I began to take interest in their concerns, such as how to communicate more effectively with fans. I noticed that entertainment companies and brands struggle with data feedback. So I thought it would be meaningful to design a solution that collects data for them.

I have seen many celebrities suffer from online abuse. While constructive feedback is necessary, in today’s sea of information, malicious intent often goes far beyond acceptable limits. This is the era of individual influencers. I want to create a system that helps protect those who have to stand before the public.”

Currently, Cha Eun Woo’s younger brother is an artificial intelligence specialist at Unbound Lab. He graduated from the prestigious Fudan University in ¢нιиα. Lee also has years of experience, having worked at Cheil Worldwide — Samsung’s advertising company — and the digital marketing agency FengTai before shifting to the AI field.

As Lee Dong Hwi’s statements spread online, he received a great deal of support and respect from K-pop fans. ARMYs also expressed encouragement for his project, saying that it is an urgently needed solution, and they hope Big Hit Music will adopt this AI system to enhance protection for BTS against anonymous attackers on social media in the future:

- I hope this is developing well as I know the hateful comments and misinformation posts need to be stopped. It’s concerning how many performers have committed suicide and I would like to have other young people be protected. Let’s keep social media safe for all!

- It’s sad to think that public figures can’t even rely on their own company to protect them

- The genes in this family is crazy. smart, kind, sincere, soft spoken and good looking. Hope his project goes well and Big Hit applies it soon. BTS have lived through far too many years of being attacked by anonymous haters

- I love the vision hope he can manage to make it what he trying to do with this AI system

- He's going to protect his own brother seeing how useless fantagio are. This is truly sad and good at the same time. He know what Eunwoo has been going through and try not to only help him but all the celebrities who keep getting nonsense hatred

- This system is so needed. BTS have endured anonymous hate for years, and it’s time they finally get the better protection

- I really hope BigHit considers adopting this AI solution. Anything that helps safeguard BTS and other artists is worth supporting.

- As an ARMY, I’m grateful someone is taking this issue seriously. Thank you, Lee Dong Hwi

- Celebrities are human too. If this technology can reduce even a little of the pain they face, I’m 100% behind it

- This could be a game changer. ARMYs fully support any system that protects BTS from targeted harαѕѕment and malicious comments
