BTS officially kicked off their BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’ IN NORTH AMERICA in Tampa on the 25th (local time) at Raymond James Stadium. This marks the group’s first concert in the United States in about four years since the BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE shows held in Las Vegas in April 2022. From the very first ticket release, all dates quickly sold out, prompting organizers to add one more show.

Amid overwhelming anticipation, the entire city of Tampa was filled with a festive atmosphere throughout the week leading up to the first concert. Tampa International Airport helped set the tone right from the city’s gateway by displaying welcome messages across its main terminal. The downtown area was fully lit up in purple and lavishly decorated, while on the 22nd, local authorities even announced road closures on the concert day to welcome BTS’s first visit with all members present.

In response to such enthusiastic support, BTS delivered an explosive performance lasting over two hours, fully living up to fans’ expectations after four years of waiting. The members performed live not only new tracks from the ARIRANG album but also their signature нιтs like Butter and Dynamite, paired with sharp, high-energy choreography. Combined with elaborate stage production, stunning lighting and sound effects, as well as confetti and fireworks, Raymond James Stadium left a truly lasting impression after the night.

Notably, during a special segment dedicated to fans in Tampa, BTS brought back Magic Shop from their album Love Yourself: Tear, released in 2018. It was also during this stage that SUGA encountered a “minor incident,” which he handled smoothly—while both the members and fans couldn’t help but be surprised and amused.

Specifically, a video quickly went viral on social media showing that during his rap verse, SUGA appeared to miss the beat. Instead of trying to catch up and complete his part, he simply lowered his microphone and let the backtrack play. However, he still earned praise by fully feeling the rhythm, even mouthing along to his entire verse without lifting the mic—essentially proving he “knew every word.” At times, he even flashed a mischievous smile, as if playfully teasing the entire stadium.

Witnessing SUGA’s almost “shamelessly” calm demeanor, j-hope displayed one of the most surprised reactions. He burst into laughter at his bandmate’s unbothered handling of the situation, laughing so hard that he even forgot to sing his following line.

Meanwhile, RM, who noticed it earlier, was just as ѕнσ¢кed and immediately shouted, “Oh SUGA” in amazement. From another camera angle, Jungkook was also seen laughing, while Jin even “followed” SUGA’s lead—lowering his mic and enjoying his part through the backtrack along with the au∂ιєnce’s harmonization.
