BTS debuted on June 13, 2013. As of now, the seven members have officially entered their 12th year together. While age can be summed up in just a few numbers, the journey of growth each member has undergone over the past decade is filled with countless milestones and changes.
From personality, appearance, to life experiences and the ups and downs they've faced, every member of BTS has become a vastly different version of themselves compared to who they were at the beginning. Back then, they were just young men in their early 20s—Jungkook hadn’t even graduated high school. Now, they’ve all grown into top-tier K-pop superstars in their 30s.
What’s truly admirable is how, throughout this long journey, all seven members have stayed by each other’s sides—weathering difficulties, maturing together, and witnessing one another’s transformations. That’s why no one knows better than the BTS members themselves who among them has grown the most over the past 10 years.
If fans had to guess without hearing from the members, most would likely choose Jungkook. He joined BTS at just 15 years old—still very much a boy. Over the years, he has completely transformed into a mature and masculine young man.
Surprisingly, though, the members gave a different answer—one that caught everyone off guard. When asked, “Who is the most mature member?”, SUGA quickly pointed to Jin as the one most deserving of the title.
The rest of the group chimed in with lighthearted, humorous reasons—teasing Jin for being the eldest in the group. Jimin joked that Jin “complains a lot,” while V quipped that Jin is “not at all childish”.
Responding to BTS's "accusation", Jin laughed in disbelief that the members thought that about him and explained that he acted "childish" or "mischievous" or "cute" because he wanted to be on the “same level” age-wise as them! It might make him not feel the age gap.
However, when the discussion turned serious, the group reached a unanimous decision: Jimin!
RM remarked, “I have a lot of respect for Jimin. He's the most adult in our group in a way". Even SUGA commented, "I'm not a talkative or funny person, but I get along with Jimin because he's so good-humored and mature."
j-hope said, "Jimin is my dongseng, but sometimes I feel that he's my hyung. He likes to joke around, but the way he thinks is mature." In another interview, he also praised Jimin for his “big heart and emotional maturity,” saying that Jimin helps him decompress during stressful times.
In other moments, Jin has praised Jimin for being such a positive force—always looking out for the members during exhausting tours and boosting the group’s morale.
Among the younger members (the “maknae-line”), Jimin stands out as someone who truly feels like an older brother of the two. V has called him his “best friend,” saying that talking with Jimin always gives him strength and motivation. Jungkook acknowledged that the group’s emotional balance owes a lot to Jimin’s kind and thoughtful nature, and thanked him for helping maintain harmony within BTS.
Ultimately, the members’ answers made one thing clear to fans: maturity isn’t defined by age or time. Each member of BTS has grown in their own unique way, but when it comes to emotional depth and inner growth, Jimin just might be the one who stands out most.
Fans also shared many comments and reactions about this heartfelt and υиєχρє¢тє∂ discussion among the members:
- Jimin?? I honestly didn’t expect that—what a plot twist!
- Whoa, I thought they’d say Jungkook for sure. Jimin really surprised me!
- Now that I think about it, Jimin really has matured the most in so many ways actually. We can feel too
- I think the biggest change in Jimin is that his wild and sharp edge has gradually softened
- Jin is the most mature? LOL only by age
- They picked Jin because he's the oldest and complains the most. Iconic
- Calls himself a Seokjinnie but is actually the most adult. Please.
- Idk whom to laugh at Jin oppa or Jimin oppa!
- Honestly, they’ve all grown so much—mentally, emotionally, and as artists.
- Each member has matured in their own way. That’s what makes BTS so special.
- I love how they can joke around but also speak so sincerely about each other
- This just proves how close they are—only BTS could have this kind of honesty and fun
