Fans have long known that Jungkook enjoys alcoholic drinks. From his old home to his current place, his refrigerator has often been stocked with cans of beer and liquor. He even once made fans laugh when he shared that he had considered stocking up on alcohol so he could drink freely before enlisting, knowing he would not be able to do so during his military service — although he ultimately did not go through with it.

He also enjoys sipping on drinks while chatting with fans during his livestreams. During one broadcast, he once said, “It's not that I drink on lives purposely, for some reason you guys come to my mind automatically once the drink kicks in". Fans have probably also noticed that alcohol sometimes helps Jungkook feel more comfortable opening up about the thoughts he has been keeping to himself.

While most fans enjoy these conversations, where Jungkook can openly share what is on his mind, some groups of fans have not been happy about them. They continue to view drinking as a “vice” that does not fit his clean-cut image, and some have even accused his drinking habit of being the reason he makes unfiltered remarks, which allegedly led to major criticism, particularly around BTS’s comeback in April this year.

As a result, whenever they see Jungkook drinking alcohol during a livestream, these fans once again make unreasonable demands, such as urging him to quit drinking altogether. Such comments eventually drew a sharp response from Jungkook: "Ah, why are you guys telling me to stop drinking? I’m a grown adult, and I’m 27. I’m enjoying it while I’m still young. You only live once. If I am born again as… If I’m guaranteed a second life, I wouldn’t do this."

Notably, compared with toxic individuals, self-proclaimed fans who claim to mean well, the members have reacted very differently, and their responses even have had a greater impact on Jungkook!

Specifically, when Jungkook came up with the idea of doing a Weverse live while drinking alcohol, the older members initially objected several times because they were concerned that it could lead to negative controversies surrounding him. However, they eventually backed down, acknowledging that the youngest member was an adult and respecting his personal preferences — allowing the “Golden Maknae” to continue.

Rather than firmly stopping him, the members quietly kept an eye on his livestreams and offered gentle reminders. During one broadcast, Jimin left affectionate comments such as, “You can do whatever you want,” “Do a broadcast about drinking,” “Do whatever you want,” “Jakey, I’m about to go, don’t drink too much,” …Meanwhile, RM advised, “Drink in moderation, dude,” and j-hope added warmly, "Cute fella, drink moderately and have fun".

Even when they were concerned about Jungkook going live with alcoholic drinks, the members never harshly scolded him. Instead, they showed genuine care and understanding toward their youngest member through every affectionate word. This made Jungkook feel comfortable, respected, and loved, while their approach also gradually encouraged him to seriously reflect on this habit himself.

The clearest sign came in an interview with Rolling Stone, when he revealed a major turning point after completing his military service: changing some old habits that were not beneficial to his health, including drinking alcohol. He shared, “Pre and post-enlistment, the depth of my thinking changed. My attitude toward how I use time changed too. I also started avoiding things that aren’t good for my body. I used to drink occasionally, but now I try not to. I want to value my time and use it more meaningfully.”

Hearing him say that he would “try not to drink occasionally” may have been the best news for the older members, who were probably relieved to see their youngest member finally paying more attention to his health. Meanwhile, ARMYs also pointed out that this is a perfect example of why fans should know their boundaries: they have no right to interfere too deeply in their idol’s personal life.

Some fans echoed this sentiment, with comments such as: "BTS are the only ones allowed to say it", "That’s BTS looking after him because that’s what they are used to for 10 yrs. The others?
