BTS Members Ever Thought About Quitting: Pressure Over 2018 Contract Renewals Make Them Burst Into Tears

2025 will be a milestone for HYBE as the company is about to enter the contract negotiation phase with the key boy band - "21st century pop icon" BTS. Given BTS's global influence, the group's decision will have a significant impact on HYBE's future.

BTS renewed their contract in 2023, but the specific terms were not disclosed. Unlike previous times, the company did not clearly announce the contract term this time, raising speculation that this may only be a short-term deal, with the contract possibly needing to be reviewed in 2026 or 2027.

In 2023, netizens could not hide their joy when it was announced that BTS had renewed their contract with HYBE, continuing their activities as a group. Given the current status and influence of the members, it was not an easy thing for all the members to renew, but they all put the group and ARMYs first.

While the decision to renew for the second time seemed to be an easy one, BTS once moved ARMYs when they shared about the difficulties in the contract renewal process in 2018. The members went through a “tears-filled” time when they were preparing to renew their contracts for the first time since their debut.

Recalling the days of discussing the contract renewal in 2018, V began by explaining that there were a long of discussions about whether to renew or not, and it would’ve included the members and those in the company. "We had many dicussions on whether to renew our contracts or not?", he stated.

Meanwhile, Jin unsurprisingly pointed out that the company wanted all the members to resign. However, he explained that while it was a good proposal, the members had different opinions about the future: "The company wanted us to renew our contracts. It's not a bad proposal for us. But the members had differing opinions".

SUGA was really honest when he explained that with all the pressure they were under, the members “had thought a lot about quitting". "We felt a lot of pressure from it all. And we were scared", he continued.

Notably, V’s face showed a hint of sadness as he revealed that the pressure was so great that he cried with the members at the time, specifically pointing out the times he did it with Jungkook and j-hope. "We shed a lot of tears during that time. Jungkook and I talked and cried together. I talked and cried with Hobi too", he remembered.

Jin added that all the pressure came from not knowing how much attention they would receive when they debuted and the hardships that came with it. "I don’t like garnering so much attention, and it’s hard psychologically. I don’t have the confidence to endure this pressure", he said.

SUGA rightly pointed out that they had no one to turn to for advice because only the seven members knew about it. That’s why things piled up, and the members became exhausted.

"Because of that, everything that had expiled up exploded. No one else knows about it except the seven of us", he said.

While fans thought the members of BTS seemed to be living the dream of being a world-clαѕѕ K-pop group, the idols revealed the нєαятвяєαкιиg truth that made fans burst into tears. Therefore, the fact that BTS has maintained their group activities for more than a decade makes fans appreciate it even more.

Now, after going through the time when BTS is on hiatus due to military service, fans and members feel even more deeply about BTS 7's reunion. June is approaching and fans are counting down the days waiting for the members to complete their military service.
