BTS has long become a global icon, not only because of their unprecedented musical achievements but also due to their powerful influence across politics, economy, culture, and society. Precisely because of BTS’s prominence as a group, when its members pursue solo activities, many have questioned whether each individual member could maintain a similar level of stature.
Moreover, numerous criticisms and negative rumors have surrounded the members when the group temporarily paused their activities. Some fans even drifted away, as they only appreciated BTS as a complete group. It is important to note that these challenges arose even when the members’ solo activities were a necessity due to mandatory military service.
Amid skeptical eyes, each member quietly demonstrated their capabilities through their solo music releases and projects. Guess which K-pop artists dominated the charts, reached Billboard No. 1, or became the first K-pop artist to speak at the CEP APEC 2025 forum during BTS’s group hiatus? Not to mention the long list of luxury labels and major global brands for which each member serves as a brand ambαѕѕador.

Clearly, RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are not just “members of the 21st-century pop icon BTS” but also top solo K-pop superstars with international influence. A new record achieved by all seven members recently further validates this claim!
On the 16th, social media and кσяєαn media confirmed that BTS became the first and only non-English group in music history to have all their solo albums surpαѕѕ 900 million streams on Spotify.
Jin’s album Echo reached this milestone on November 15th, completing the record. Previously, RM had reached 900M with Indigo (2022), SUGA with D-DAY, j-hope with Jack In The Box, Jimin with FACE, V with Layover, and Jungkook with GOLDEN — all нιтting 900M streams.

This record not only proves BTS’s timeless appeal but also affirms the individual musical style, talent, and reputation of each member. BTS has created a global wave as a group, and yet each member is capable of “shining on their own” as a solo artist.
The achievement of surpαѕѕing 900M streams for each member’s solo work also reflects a smart strategy of developing individual careers while maintaining BTS’s image and value. Solo projects complement the group rather than separate from it, creating a broad musical ecosystem in which each member shines and contributes to the collective success — soмєтнing many other K-pop groups have not accomplished.
On social media, fans are celebrating this record and eagerly expressing anticipation for the group’s album when they return as a full lineup next spring:
