Backstage Moment Reveals j-hope Was Hospitalized With A High Fever Before His Mexico Concert, Leaving ARMYs Heartbroken

j-hope once again lights up the stage — this time on the big screen — with the film “j-hope Tour ‘HOPE ON THE STAGE’ THE MOVIE.” The work captures every moment from his solo tour and is scheduled for a worldwide release on November 12, 2025, in theaters and IMAX systems.

The movie promises to recreate the vibrant and intense atmosphere of a live stage, giving viewers the feeling of actually attending the concert — where every dance move, every smile, and every drop of sweat reflects the pαѕѕion and unique energy of BTS’s very own “Sunshine.” In addition to the explosive performances, the film also reveals genuine behind-the-scenes moments that showcase j-hope’s dedication to music and his fans.

In particular, on November 3, an exclusive global IMAX preview screening allowed some fans to get an early look at the breathtaking footage. Among the scenes, ARMYs in theaters paid close attention to the moments before j-hope’s concert in мєχι¢σ and shared their reactions online.

Some captured images showed the BTS superstar looking extremely exhausted, running a high fever above 38°C, constantly taking medication, lying weakly on a hotel bed, and later resting on a hospital bed while receiving an IV. He had suffered a severe illness caused by sudden weather changes and constant travel between continents during his solo world tour.

What’s remarkable is that this happened just before his three-hour concert in мєχι¢σ was set to begin. Both j-hope and his staff had considered the worst-case scenario — canceling the show due to his condition. However, he still went on stage and set it on fire at 142°C, as if there had never been a fever at all. Even his manager was ѕнσ¢кed to see a j-hope full of energy — completely different from the one struggling with a high fever just hours earlier.

In fact, during that very concert, the BTS rapper had directly mentioned to ARMYs: “To be honest, I wasn’t feeling well before the мєχι¢σ concert. My fever went up to almost 39.5°C, and I was in really bad condition, but I’m totally fine now! But I had to recover to be able to perform, didn’t I? So I looked for a кσяєαn hospital thinking there wouldn’t be one, but there was! I met a really good doctor, recovered, and was able to perform like this.”

At that time, however, fans could not have imagined that his condition had been that severe. Only when the movie revealed the full situation did fans burst into tears, realizing what j-hope had gone through before stepping on stage. Many were heartbroken to think that even while he was so ill, not for a single moment did he show fatigue or dance halfheartedly once he began performing.

The cut from the film’s trailer quickly went viral among fans. ARMYs flooded social media with comments expressing their deep admiration for the true artist that j-hope is, along with endless love and appreciation for him:

- His face is so flush and red that means high temperature/fever but he's ưtill on the stage and burn it. Respect to him

- He's an angel, no matter how hurt he is, he'll never put on a bad show for his fans. My heart broken when see him sick

- at 103° fever you are so weak you can't even walk properly and this man was performing 27-28 songs with choreo and giving his 100% to it!! oh hobi your dedication and will power is CRAZY

- this’ll break me when i watch the movie, the fact that he did everything to get better & be able to perform for us, he gave it his all on that stage & was smiling until the very last minute… i’ll genuinely be eternally grateful

- see how he's wearing a mask when he's sick so 1) he avoids potentially getting more sick 2) he avoids spreading it to others. be like hobi - considerate of yourself and others :) (him and other members do wear one outside of being sick too and that's good to see as well!)

- 39°C and all i can say is hoseok is a fυ¢кing monster. fever at 38 is already unbearable, 39 im basically bed-ridden, had a fever of about 40 before and i was rushed to the hospital because i was convulsing. he delivered a whole performance for more than 2 hours

- BTS are the strongest always and they never used excuse. I cant pay it back ever

- the most hardworking who never ever complains. wish all the best for this lovely man

- And still people question why he deserves a prestigious award. He got up on stage while being sick for all these ungrateful mfs.

- Them getting sick on tour is such a worry, especially these solo tours when everything relies on one. Good health, Hobi!!

- he's traveling back to back and performing non-stop..the change in weather and food might have some effects. Please take care Hobi and get through the tour in best health

- When I saw his tour schedule, I wondered how it is humanly possible to do it with the amount of energy he puts in to every one of with his brilliant dance routines.
