ARMYs Defend Jungkook As He Faces Criticism For His Post Related To A Currently Controversial Idol Group

As one of the world’s top K-pop superstars, BTS receives more public attention than anyone else. Even the smallest move they make on social media is enough to become a hot topic among netizens. Naturally, these discussions can go in both positive and negative directions, because that is the nature of the public.

For example, when RM recently used NMIXX’s song “Spinnin’ on It” in an Instagram Story, social media immediately buzzed with reactions. While most NSWERS expressed excitement and felt honored that a BTS superstar showed love for JYP’s girls, some fans of other groups mocked their reaction and hurled insults at RM.

Right after RM, Jungkook ran into a similar issue. On the 18th, BTS’s Golden Maknae shared ALLDAY Project’s song “One More Time” on his Instagram Story, along with a comment: "This is insanely (just my) taste", showing that he appreciated the track. Sharing his favorite songs on social media is soмєтнing he often does, so there was nothing unusual about it.

However, some people seemed displeased with Jungkook’s action simply because they dislike ALLDAY Project, calling the newly debuted group under The Black Label “scandalous.”

The new co-ed group ALLDAY Project debuted this June, less than a year after MEOVV’s debut. From the moment they were introduced, the group has continuously been embroiled in major controversies: a trademark dispute over the name “Allday,” cultural appropriation allegations against member Tarzzan, disputes surrounding Annie Moon’s “chaebol” background and accusations that she bought her hosting spot at Gayo Daejeon, internal dating rumors, weak live performance sкιℓℓs, and a KGMA Daesang that many say is “too big” for a rookie, …

The group’s overwhelming “scandals” have overshadowed their music, and some segments of the au∂ιєnce, influenced by the controversies, do not evaluate this rookie group’s music fairly. But disliking a group does not mean everyone else must feel the same. You also have no right to force others to hate that group just because you do.

Surprisingly, when Jungkook expressed his appreciation for ALLDAY Project’s music, these individuals reacted negatively and even demanded that he remove the shared song. Some even convinced themselves that Jungkook’s Instagram must have been hacked or that he doesn’t actually use social media—simply because they could not accept that he listens to the music of “a controversial group.”

In this situation, ARMYs felt fed up with people who fail to understand the boundary between idols and fans and who lack basic respect for others. True fans pointed out that his action was purely about music and unrelated to any external controversies. Jungkook has also always shown support for new groups, and he has every right to do whatever he wants with his own social media account.

On the other hand, although ALLDAY Project has been involved in many controversies, their recent popularity in кσяєα is undeniable. Their music is also trending, so it’s perfectly understandable why Jungkook listens to their songs.

In particular, in this situation, a humorous meme suddenly went viral within the fandom because it almost perfectly captures what often happens between BTS members and ARMYs. The meme implies that while some fans may dislike certain celebrities, it is “ironic” how soon after, their idol ends up praising or supporting those very people.

But even when this happens, it simply reflects differences in perspectives and individual preferences. True ARMYs always respect their idol’s choices. Any criticism directed at Jungkook is unreasonable. ARMYs have flooded posts with comments defending the maknae:

- jungkook showing that he doesn’t care about the opinion of others (the frustrated k-pop stans who hate adp) and that he’s going to listen to the music he wants YEAHHHH

- Jungkook really likes to support new groups, he doesn't care which company they're under

- And why are ppl surprised he liked ditto this music has the same vibe

- It sounds like a mix of B. Bang and N. Jeans, he really likes those bands, just about their music, why do you react like he loves theses idols?

- It cracks me up how ARMY is desperately trying to prove he wasn't the one who shared this, hahaha, as if he couldn't reinstall the app and all the fuss is over He only shared one d*mn song and that's it. I wish they had reacted that quickly days ago when they dragged him away.

- Some comments here are borderline disrespectful. Know your place as fans. Yes, I think their music is sht - but what does it matter? Y’all are acting as if whenever BTS post soмєтнing you’re being forced to listen. Reusing one joke over and over isn’t funny.

- this is why i don’t take anything seriously because the fandoms are the ones causing all the drama..meanwhile the artists themselves are chill with each other

- Jungkook can share any song he likes. It’s his personal account, not a public voting poll. Let him enjoy his music in peace.

- Liking one song doesn’t mean he’s responsible for another group’s scandals. People need to stop projecting their own issues onto him.

- He has always supported new artists. Appreciating music is not a crime, and it shouldn’t be turned into one.

- Attacking Jungkook over a harmless story post is ridiculous. You can dislike a group, but you don’t get to control what he listens to.
