Fans have always had a special affection for the interactions between Jin and Jungkook. Although Jin is the eldest member while Jungkook is the youngest, their playfulness seems to know no limits. Even when they appear to be at odds with each other, they still radiate a uniquely synchronized, adorable, and brotherly chemistry. That is why whenever the two are together, they always bring endless laughter and delightfully chaotic moments.
For example, last November, Jin and Jungkook played a game together during a livestream. Despite having his account hacked, Jin still eagerly suggested joining and even prepared a backup plan so he could quickly get into the game with Jungkook, while the youngest immediately called him to coordinate how they would play together after Jin left a comment with a suggestion. Throughout the two-hour gaming session, fans couldn’t stop laughing at the hilarious moments of this “noisy” duo.

Another example comes from a clip taken from the recently released documentary BTS: The Return. Before Jin left the group’s creative camp in Los Angeles, he went over to Jungkook, hugged him while he was lying on the bed, and said he didn’t want to leave early. He even asked Jungkook to add his fingerprint or give him the pαѕѕword to the youngest’s villa, and offered the same for his own place—just so he could come over anytime.

Despite being extremely close, there is one amusing anecdote that fans still talk about: Jin did not follow Jungkook for three whole months after the younger member created his new Instagram account, even though the other five members had already done so. At the time, humorous posts circulated across online communities discussing how Jungkook frequently reposted Jin’s posts while waiting for BTS’s eldest member to finally follow him back on Instagram.

It was only after the BTS members themselves intervened that Jin finally “ended” his streak of ignoring Jungkook — something Jin personally revealed during a livestream celebrating the Billboard chart achievements of the album ARIRANG and its title track “Swim.” Specifically, Jin brought up the story himself while the members were discussing Instagram and directly explained his reason. He said, “I don't use IG much, so I'm not sure. I got scolded that I'm not following Jungkook.”
Afterward, j-hope added to the story by describing the members’ reactions at the time: “We've been saying things like WHAT ARE YOU DOING WITHOUT FOLLOWING HIM,” and Jin emphasized once again, “I didn't even know he had an Insta ID.”

At that moment, fans burst into laughter upon realizing that Jin genuinely did not know Jungkook had returned to Instagram after years of deleting his account. At the time, Jin was likely busy with his solo tour and not paying attention to Instagram, causing him to completely miss the news that Jungkook had created a new account. Fans also found it hilarious that the other members reacted so dramatically upon discovering that the oldest member of the group was the only one not following the youngest.
Not only did ARMY burst out laughing over this story, but they also could not help “melting” over the duo’s consistently chaotic sibling energy:
- They are so funny plz. I knew that man didn’t know. He’s already chronically offline
- Haha so it's not intentional. Jungkook kept tagging Jin though
- This is nothing compared to Jungkook not even having Jin’s phone number. This duo is so chaotic
- I get you Jin, Jk just recently got this active. Also the amount of repost he has done of his hyung’s post and ad just to make him notice, lol
- Just like jk said he didn’t have jin’ phone number after he left the live video and went home
- We all were right he didn't even know Jungkook opened new account. He’s the funniest actually
- My chronically offline husband which took 234 business days to figure out his band mate had a new insta acc
- its so seokjin coded to ask jungkook's house pαѕѕword and make him register his fingerprints before finding out jungkook has instagram
- the fact that jin was unaware for MONTHS than jungkook had an insta acc is frying me so bad my poor millenial
