A New BTS Song Features Explicit Content, Yet ARMYs Are Absolutely Thrilled

Only a few days remain before global fans will finally get to experience ARIRANG, the fifth studio album by BTS, which is scheduled for release on the 20th. According to an earlier announcement from BigHit Music, ARIRANG will include a total of 14 tracks, with the title track titled “SWIM.” The song’s lyrics were primarily written by the group’s leader RM, further raising fans’ expectations for the album’s message and emotional depth.

In addition, BigHit Music has also provided brief introductions for each track on the album. For instance, “Hooligan” reflects BTS’s journey of conquering the world and their spirit of breaking past old limitations, “Merry Go Round” reflects on enduring the endless cycles of life, “Like Animals” expresses their determination to live pαѕѕionately, and “2.0” symbolizes them stepping into the newest chapter of their journey.

Not only that, ARMYs were recently treated to another preview when the French producer duo Picard Brothers—who collaborated with BTS on this album—revealed a short audio snippet from the B-side track “Body To Body.” The producers pointed out that the music snippet from the animation trailer posted by BigHit Music on YouTube on the 14th is actually part of the song’s official audio, sending fans into a frenzy.

Even more notably, five days before the album’s release, another intriguing detail about the album was revealed and quickly ѕнσ¢кed fans. According to information displayed on Apple Music and iTunes, the album ARIRANG has been labeled Explicit. Interestingly, among all the tracks on the album, only the song “Normal” has been clαѕѕified as containing explicit content.

According to an earlier description from BigHit Music, “Normal” is introduced as a song about the emotions of the BTS members both while standing on stage as global artists and when returning to their everyday lives away from the spotlight. The track explores the contrast between the members’ “idol versions” and their “ordinary selves,” as well as the feeling of balancing fame, pressure, and personal thoughts.

In other words, it is a reflective and introspective track in which the members share the experience of living between two different worlds: on one side, K-pop superstars known by millions around the globe, and on the other, ordinary individuals with their own emotions and worries.

For that reason, many believe the Explicit label may stem from straightforward or strong language in the lyrics. With themes revolving around the pressures of fame and the real emotions behind the spotlight, rap or introspective hip-hop is considered a fitting way to deliver the message. Over the years, the group’s rappers—RM, SUGA, and j-hope—have frequently used hip-hop to express their personal perspectives, from exhaustion with public attention to honest reflections on their careers. Alternative hip-hop or rap blended with rock has also been speculated as a possible style for the track.

With this line of thinking, many ARMY are actually feeling extremely excited despite the sensitive label attached to the album and “Normal.” On social media, numerous fans have expressed hopes that “Normal” could be a powerful rap diss track aimed at haters and antis, similar in spirit to the нιт song Mic Drop, which previously made a strong impact.

For BTS, songs that carry bold and outspoken messages often leave a powerful mark—and ARMY are now waiting to see whether “Normal” will become the group’s next strong musical statement:

- Okay so Normal is not normal and the titles of other songs which are explicit as h3ll are actually normal. LMAO

- A diss track and it will be 2nd single.. its all over ly:her era

- The production credits for "NORMAL" actually include Ryan Tedder. Since it's the only explicit track, he wasn't joking when he said this album was one of the "craziest" things he’s ever worked on.

- We have entered the fяєαкy era , what if we get soмєтнing with a house of cards type of vibe???

- Ayyy normal is a disstrack?? I guess so. Haters better start getting nervous from now on

- the fact that NORMAL is the explicit one… yeah this album is about to be crazy

- LET’S GO!!! It’s probably just ¢υяѕιиg though. Let’s pray it’s s3xy. Can’t wait anymore nowww

- what if BTS ¢υяѕєs in NORMAL, what if they say ‘ITS F*CKING NORMAL’ and the beat drops and jimin flips and jungkook starts rapping and namjoon tears his shirt off

- tbh i just think it’s probably them sw3aring in it bc even set me free pt2 was clαѕѕified as explicit & normal was described as a song about the “emotion felt off and on stage”

- Let’s call it, ‘Normal’ is gonna be a “fck you I don’t care you can’t control my sht” kind of banger
