A Detail Outside SUGA’s Center Ahead Of Opening Day Draws Attention, Leaving Fans Emotional

While Jin, RM, j-hope, V, and Jungkook have been highly active with individual projects and frequent social media updates — even livestreams — since completing their military service, SUGA and Jimin have remained notably reserved. They rarely make “solo” appearances in public, only surfacing in group moments with BTS members or in photos taken and shared by others.

SUGA, in particular, has been quiet for more than two years. That changed on September 22, when he surprised fans with a set of photos posted on his own social media account, sending them into an outpouring of joy. It marked his first personal update since August 2023, right before he began his alternative military service.

The photos show SUGA posing in a concrete-walled space, dressed in black and holding an electric guitar. Even without any caption, fans were thrilled — after such a turbulent period, he was finally back in front of the people who had been waiting for him all along.

In recent days, another piece of good news has followed, further fueling anticipation among fans eager to see him again: the Min Yoongi Treatment Center will officially open on September 30. The announcement was posted on the official Severance Hospital website, and preview images outside the building ahead of the grand opening have already drawn significant attention.

One detail that deeply touched fans was the signboard of the center, which reads: “Min Yoongi Treatment Center. This center is a space for the treatment of children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder, established with the noble intentions and dedication of BTS SUGA (real name: Min Yoongi), our sponsor. (This space is scheduled to be expanded and relocated in the future.) – Severance”

This touching detail moved fans immensely, who saw it as a testament to the “legacy” SUGA has been building!

As fans know, back in June, SUGA donated ₩5 billion (approximately USD 3.6 million) to Severance Hospital to establish a specialized treatment center for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This was confirmed as the largest-ever donation made by a K-pop artist for such a cause.

Beyond the monetary contribution, SUGA has also been reported to personally volunteer his time and talents to support children with special needs. From March through June this year, the BTS rapper spent weekends meeting with and teaching music to children with ASD.

Alongside Professor Chun Geun-ah, a leading child psychiatrist at Severance Hospital, he co-developed a music-based social communication program called MIND, designed specifically for children and adolescents with autism. The program includes playing instruments, singing, songwriting, and expressing emotions through both music and writing.

Seeing the fruits of SUGA’s volunteer work — especially the establishment and opening of the Min Yoongi Treatment Center — has brought fans overwhelming joy. On social media, ARMYs expressed their happiness with comments such as:
